Lady Gaga's return to Mexico City after more than a decade brought together music and a message that left fans emotional.

On April 26, 2025, Lady Gaga kicked off the international leg of her Viva La Mayhem tour at the Estadio GNP Seguros. According to reports, the venue was packed with over 61,000 fans.

This was her first concert in Mexico since her Born This Way Ball tour back in 2012. Fans, who call themselves Little Monsters, had been eagerly waiting for her comeback.

As part of the show, she read a letter in Spanish. Gaga thanked her Mexican fans for their passion and support over the years. The emotional moment was quick to take over social media.

Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to share:

"Lady Gaga writes letter in Spanish for her Mexican fans and reads it out to them at her 'MAYHEM' concert in Mexico."

Netizens were notably quick to gather in the comment section of the video as they penned their thoughts over the emotional Lady Gaga moment. Below are what some of them had to say:

"The translation… her love for her fans is unmatched", declared a fan.
"Lady Gaga never fails to show how much she cares about her fans. Truly an icon who connects with love", lauded another.
"Wow, that's so thoughtful of Lady Gaga! Connecting with her fans in their language is truly special!", added a third.

Others also chimed in:

"Not Gaga speaking spanish better that JLo, Selena, Olivia, Zoe", noted an X user.
"10000% better Spanish than Selena Gómez in Emilia Pérez", joked another.
"Oh this made me tear up. Lady Gaga clearly put a lot of effort into compiling this message to the crowd in Spanish.", expressed a third.
"My God, Mexico and Brazil are the Spanish-speaking countries that take all the artists", penned a fourth.

What was in the letter?

As reported by Lady Gaga Now, the translation of Lady Gaga's now-viral Spanish letter reads:

"Dear Little Monsters,
It's such an honor to be here tonight in your beautiful country, performing for everyone. It's been 13 years since I was last in Mexico, and coming back has been so special.
I hope you feel, in every detail of tonight's show, how much effort I put into showing how much I admire and respect each of you. Everything was done with a lot of love and dedication.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for choosing to spend this evening with me. It means the world to me.
Mexico City has a very special place in my heart because it was here that I ended my first stadium tour: the Monster Ball. I will never forget the emotion and passion you shared with me at that farewell, the most important show of my career so far.
Today, being able to experience this again with you is a gift. And the most beautiful thing is that, this time, we are not ending a cycle — we are starting a new one.
With all my love,
Lady Gaga."

Lady Gaga's performance in Mexico City carried significance as she ended her first stadium tour, The Monster Ball, in the same city 13 years ago. She reflected on that memory in the letter.
