Alex Warren has been keeping his parents’ memory alive through his music, especially with his debut album, You'll Be Alright, Kid.

The album, which arrived on July 18, 2025, through Atlantic Records, featured 10 new tracks. The song titled First Time on Earth, was about his parents. He told People magazine that it was the most cathartic to write.

He said:

“I remember when we finished that song, I bawled my eyes out. I think that was one of the songs where every time I listened to it on a drive by myself, I just start crying."

Warren added:

"It's something really beautiful where I never got any closure with my parents before they passed. This is a song for me to be able to kind of remind myself, but also have a conversation with them, if they can hear me, you know?”

All you need to know about Alex Warren’s debut album “You'll Be Alright, Kid”

While speaking about his debut album, You’ll Be Alright, Kid to People magazine at the Audacy We Can Survive benefit concert, Alex Warren said:

“The coolest thing that I've been able to do is keep my parents alive in some ways, whether it's the music or the shows, and never not talking about them. Some people view that as a bad thing, but I love to keep them alive with my silly little jokes and my silly little songs.”

Alex Warren was only 9 years old when he lost his father to kidney cancer. In 2021, his mother passed away from Liver and renal failure. She remained an alcoholic through most of the years of her life. He announced her death in a post shared on X in October 2021, and wrote:

“at 1:35AM i got a call that my Mom sadly passed away from Liver and renal failure. Addiction is a serious thing and i just want you guys to know that i’m here to talk to. I love you guys so much and thank you so much for being there for me. I want to be their for you too.”

At the age of 18, she kicked him out of the house, making him homeless. He slept in the cars of his friends, as his mother convinced them that he was a troublemaker.

The singer-songwriter, who dedicated his debut album to his parents, announced the second chapter of his 2024 LP, You’ll Be Alright, Kid, in June 2025. The full album has been divided into two discs, with new songs appearing on Disc 1.

The 10-track album features the songs Eternity, The Outside, First Time on Earth, Bloodline, Never Be Far, Ordinary, Everything, Getaway Car, Who I Am, You Can’t Stop This, Burning Down, Catch My Breath, Carry You Home, Troubled Waters and more.
