In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Madison Beer talked about self-care and opened up on the topic of mental health. The 26-year-old singer and songwriter has been in the music industry since 2012 with major hits like Make You Mine and Reckless.

In the Cosmopolitan interview, Madison appreciated her team and talked about being less serious and having fun by adding,

"Of course, music is so important, but let’s loosen up a little and not be so goddamn serious all the time. And by the way, I can already hear the people on Twitter being like, “Well, this is why you're not as big as the other girls, girl.” And you know what? Maybe it is."

She further added,

"Or maybe it is because I prioritize my life and my mental health more than my career. I’m really proud of where I’m at and I’m not putting all of my self-worth into my career."

The singer also stated that her confidence and self-esteem come from her appearance. However, Beer revealed that she is trying to change that outlook by focusing more on her inner growth.

"A lot of my self-worth is based on the way I look. I’m trying to change that, but it’s so deep-rooted. It’s been ingrained in me since I was young because of people focusing on superficial bullsh**."

Beer released a song, Effortlessly, in 2021, which talks about the struggles with mental health. The singer has previously been candid about her mental health in The Forty-Five magazine by saying she was self-hating for a long time.

Madison Beer opens up about being bullied by the media

Madison was asked various questions about her self-worth, growth, and friendship with other celebrities in the music industry. When asked about her relationship with the media, Madison said,

"I’ve been bullied a lot. They sometimes do interviews with me just to make fun of me. People around me used to tell me “Shhh, don’t speak back, don’t stand up for yourself.” But I’m at this place now where I will happily be like, “What the fuck are you saying?” if that’s how I feel."

While Beer's relationship with media houses has been strained due to the way they’ve treated her, Madison shares a deep bond with her fans. According to the interview, she feels especially connected to those fans who have supported her from the start, saying they truly understood her journey, even when others didn’t.

With over 39 million followers on Instagram, Madison Beer continues to receive love and support from her fans around the world. As per fans' speculation, Madison Beer is currently working on her third studio album, scheduled to release in 2025. The singer hasn't revealed the final date of the launch.
