“I’ve definitely become more confident”: The Voice champion Alyssa Delpopolo credits coach Kate Miller-Heidke for helping her manage anxiety

Alyssa Delpopolo has emerged as the winner of The Voice Australia.

The 19-year-old shared the news with her followers on her Instagram account on November 2, 2025. In the finale, Delpopolo thrilled the crowd with Celine Dion’s rendition of It’s All Coming Back To Me Now. It earned her a standing ovation from all the coaches and the audience.

While speaking to an Australian news organization, 7 News she shared about her on-stage anxiety and how her coach, Kate Miller-Heidke helped in her training. She told the outlet:

“I was a shy kid, I still am. I never really thought much of it because it was such a common occurrence. It’s kind of always been with me. But being coached by Kate and being on the show has helped me a lot. I’ve definitely become more confident and opened up.”

Delpopolo lacked self-confidence which often hindered her dream of becoming a professional singer. She shared how the Australian singer helped her a lot throughout the competition and praised her for believing in her strength.

Alyssa Delpopolo is a singer from Sydney, Australia who made heads turn with her remarkable performance at the grand finale of The Voice Australia, emerging as a proud winner. She reportedly won a cash prize of $100,000.

Following her victory, the teenager shared several Instagram stories that gave a sneak peek behind-the-scene. In one of the stories, she shared a picture with her mentor Kate Miller-Heidke. Thanking her for her guidance, Delpopolo wrote:

“This woman is everything thank you for everything.”

In another post shared on her Instagram stories, Alyssa Delpopolo shared a short video where she thanked everyone including her fans, music producers, backstage people, her make-up and styling team, and others.

The judges for The Voice Australia were Richard Marx, Melanie C, Ronan Keating and Kate Miller-Heidke. Richard is an American singer and songwriter who specializes in adult contemporary and pop rock music. Ronan is the former co-lead singer of the popular Irish boy band Boyzone.

Kate is an award-winning Australian singer and songwriter who is known for her work in pop, folk, musical theatre and opera. She has released over ten studio albums in her career including Curiouser, Nightflight, and Child in Reverse.

Melanie is a former member of the Spice Girls known as Sporty Spice. Her real name is Melanie Jayne Chisholm.

For the first time ever, the show was an all-female finale. While speaking to New Idea Magazine in Australia, she said:

“Getting to work with Kate, that was a really great experience, but meeting the other artists as well, we were all really close, so that was really amazing to get the chance to work with them and meet them.”

Alyssa Delpopolo also opened up about her performance anxiety with the outlet. She said that when she practised at home, she sang in a different room from her parents. She told the outlet that Kate helped her overcome her challenges and build confidence during her time on the show. She said Kate also taught her some deep-breathing exercises, which have helped her throughout the competition.

In the singing talent show, Alyssa Delpopolo competed alongside Bella Parnell, Cle Morgan, Euan Hart, Ellaphon Ta, Cassie Henderson and Sienna Langenheim.

She is currently studying music at the JMC Academy in Sydney and is expected to graduate by the end of the year. While sharing an insight about her future plans with New Idea Magazine, she said that she will soon release her music at the end of this year or by early 2026.
