The We Found Love hitmaker clarified his earlier remarks about a supposed music project with Cyrus that had fallen through in 2024 by expressing that there were no hard feelings towards the Grammy Award-winning artist.

What is the drama between Miley Cyrus and Calvin Harris over unreleased music, and what we know about it

Drama involving the duo began when Calvin Harris teased a summer jam titled Ocean on social media in May 2024, featuring a female singer with a raspy voice whom many believed to be Miley Cyrus.

Snippets of the song were shared on social media and performed at the Telcate Emblema Festival on May 18, 2024. The music producer cleared all track traces from his social media by July 2024, and fans suspected something wasn’t right.

Word on the street was that Miley Cyrus’s record label blocked the song’s release due to undisclosed contractual or creative reasons. On August 17, 2025, more than a year after the Ocean music project was shelved, Calvin Harris teased the reworked version of the song with another artist on TikTok and captioned it, “I love it.”

Fans expressed excitement over the upcoming track, while others noted that Harris used Miley’s vocals in the original.

@Hassouna commented on TikTok, stating:

"Although I hate the fact miley isn't on it anymore, can we at least get the original production?? The vibes were immaculate."

Calvin Harris replied:

"This is wayyy better."

Another TikTok user stated that they only wanted to hear Miley's version, to which Harris replied, "Off you pop then."

The music producer’s replies on TikTok reignited speculations of a feud as media outlets circulated Harris’ statements on X. Harris quickly shut down rumors by replying to another comment on TikTok that read:

"This was Miley's team's fault? Because the og vibe was amazing."

He stated:

"Nah, it was my bad...crossed wires."

Neither Miley Cyrus nor her representatives have responded to the feud speculations online.
