Dolly Parton is now a Guinness World Records Icon. As part of the Guinness World Records 70th anniversary celebrations, the Jolene hitmaker was awarded the award at her Nashville Studios. Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, praised the legendary country music singer for her talent and influence:
"Dolly Parton is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated writers and performers in the history of country music, as reflected in her many Guinness World Records certificates. Still, her reach and influence extend far beyond the musical world."
Glenday mentioned some of the singer’s philanthropic contributions to society, adding that the Jolene hitmaker was deserving of the World Records Icon title:
“There are so many projects close to her heart - poverty relief, education, medical research and of course the Imagination Library free-books campaign - and these important, life-changing initiatives propel Dolly into a different league. She is a living legend, and it's an honour to bestow GWR ICON status upon her."
Dolly boasts a successful 60-year career, under which she has released 66 studio albums, collaborated with the industry’s finest and won numerous awards and received several recognitions. Yes, she is a living musical legend.

Dolly Parton looked surprised at the number of awards presented to her. She stated that she was humbled by the recognition and added that she was proud of the charity work that she was doing:
“Well, to say I’m humbled by that would be an understatement. I take a lot of pride in it, and I’m very proud to say that I’ve been around long enough to have done nothing to deserve these things like I never can believe it when I get all these things. I just keep thinking, well must have done something right lol. Thanks to the fans.”
