Demi Lovato's visit to BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, has generated notable conversations online. Lovato performed a mashup of two tracks from Lady Gaga's Mayhem album: Disease and Perfect Celebrity.

Clips of Demi Lovato's set soon began circulating online. Some fans drew comparisons to the pop scene of 2010, when Lovato and Gaga, among others, were dominating the charts individually.

One user wrote: "She ate that cover like it was 2010 all over again."

Demi Lovato's performance comes days before the release of her eighth studio album, It’s Not That Deep. The record is officially slated to be released on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Netizens' reactions to Demi Lovato performing Lady Gaga's "Perfect Celebrity" for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge

Pop Crave took to its official X (formerly Twitter) to share a clip of her performance, captioning:

"Demi Lovato covers “Perfect Celebrity” by Lady Gaga for BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge."

Netizens soon gathered under the comments of the X post to share their remarks on her performance. Below are some of their reactions:

"Do live lounge sessions make you appreciate the raw talent more than studio versions?", questioned a fan.
"Aye, can't wait to hear Demi's take! Nothing like a good cover to stir the pot and bring some fresh vibes. Shall we place bets on how many high notes she will hit?", commented another.
"You can say whatever you want about Demi Lovato, but this girl can SIIINNNNNGGGGGG. What a voice goddamm", stated a third.

Others also chimed in:

"And Charli fans think Demi stole her nachos?? Let's see Charli sing this without auto tune FIRST", penned an X user.
"Demi covering Gaga feels poetic two artists who were villainized for being too much, now standing as proof that raw talent always outlasts public hate", wrote another.

Notably, Lovato recently shared a statement about her single Fast with Las Culturistas:

"What are you talking about? Not only did I release ‘Fast,’ there’s so many incredible songs that came out this summer. All the pop girlies are having their moments. You have got ADÉLA who I stan so hard. You have got Gaga, Sabrina, Tate McRae, Kesha, Kim Petras, PinkPantheress, all of these incredible artists and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I could keep going. Everyone has brain rot and can’t think past the 30 second TikTok mark which I can relate to…stream 'Fast.'"

Netizens also reacted to this statement, saying:

"Demi Lovato saying there’s no song of the summer 2025 feels like a stretch when you’ve got bangers like 'Fast' dropping and queens like ADÉLA, Gaga, Sabrina, Tate McRae, Kesha, Kim Petras, and PinkPantheress killing it left and right, making every playlist pop. It’s almost like some folks forgot that music isn’t just about TikTok clips but actual vibes that stick with you for way longer than 30 seconds, something Demi clearly gets. Stream 'Fast' and see for yourself how many hits this summer really brought, because dismissing all that talent sounds more like an excuse than a fact"

Following the release of It's Not That Deep, Demi Lovato is expected to kick off a tour in 2026 to support the album. As of now, she has one upcoming live date in 2025:

  • Saturday, October 25, 2025, Hollywood, CA, at the Hollywood Palladium (One Night Only performance)
