In the music business, every song has a backstory. There is tension and surprise throughout that timeline in Big Sean's hit song "I Don't F*ck With You."
The song was an anthem for everyone who was experiencing some sort of emotion for someone when it was published in 2014 as a part of his Dark Sky Paradise album.
Fans were unaware, though, that Beyonce, one of the biggest music artists of our time, had a very strong reaction to listening to it, and it wasn't a good one.
The reply that Beyonce gave Big Sean after he performed "I Don't F*ck With You" was not what he had anticipated. The Queen Bey herself had described the song as "disrespectful" and thought it was a little harsh.
The rapper recently appeared on Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown and his brother Equanimeous' podcast, St. Brown.
He said: "I went to their house and was playing them songs," Big Sean recalled. "Beyoncé was like, ‘It’s a little disrespectful. Maybe you should [get] Nicki Minaj on it for a female’s voice.’ Jay-Z was like, ‘Nah, it’s hard, though.’

"He was like, ‘People gonna get it that you just having fun.' Then I remember I was getting texts from Hov. He sent me a text one time that was like, ‘Every day you not putting that song out, you losing.’ I almost didn’t put it on the album. I thought it was a little dumb."
With "I Don't F*ck With You," a nine-time platinum platinum rap hit, Big Sean naturally ended up engaging E-40. But considering the music Queen Bey was creating at the time and would go on to produce, it's amusing to hear her perspective on it.
We're curious to know what music she enjoys while on tour. Later in the year, Beyonce will start the COWBOY CARTER tour, performing her most recent show in stadiums across North America and Europe.
In a recent freestyle, Big Sean honored the tenth anniversary of Dark Sky Paradise, but he had more to celebrate.
A fan favorite, "I Don't F*ck With You" quickly rose to the top of the charts. From Best Rap Song at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards to Best Collabo, Duo or Group and Best Hip-Hop Video at the MTV Video Music Awards and Track of the Year at the BET Hip Hop Awards, it received a number of prestigious honors and nominations.
It is still a club staple and a hip-hop song because of its unrepentant and catchy melody. The music video for "I Don't F*ck With You" is equally appealing and tells a tale about football.
E-40 portrays Big Sean's inspirational coach, while Big Sean plays a high school quarterback. The music and the video's humorous and cheerful tone complemented each other.
