Former Nickelodeon star and singer Victoria Justice officially unveiled her new single, Love Zombie, on the same day that Taylor Swift released her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The overlap has generated notable conversations online, with some fans declaring,

"It's over for Taylor"

Love Zombie was first written and recorded by Victoria Justice as a teenager. It was nearly fifteen years ago. However, the track was shelved after her record deal at the time did not pan out.

A leaked version of the song gained traction among fans. Victoria Justice ultimately re-recorded the track with updated production in 2025. The singer wrote to fans:

"This feels like honoring my younger self."

Internet reactions to Victoria Justice's new single, Love Zombie

Victoria Justice took to her official Instagram page to announce the drop. She wrote:

"Love Zombie is FINALLY yours!! 🖤🧟‍♀️ (Along with a lyric video/visualizer☺️) Some backstory: I wrote and recorded the original version of this song when I was 17, back when I was signed to a label. So many of the songs I wrote then never saw the light of day (a label deal not going the way I thought it would!? What a concept 🤪). But after this one leaked and got such a strong reaction online, I knew I had to re-record it, make a few tweaks, and bring Love Zombie into 2025."

The post continued:

"This feels like honoring my younger self, and it’s so fulfilling to know that energy isn’t wasted. I hope you guys blast it all spooky season (and beyond). Being independent, every playlist add, share, or any time you use the sound means SO much — thank you 🥹. Huge shoutout to @joshcumbeemusic for helping me resurrect this one 🙏🏼🧟‍♀️ — couldn’t have done it without you 🖤. Love Zombie would’ve never risen from the dead without you guys being so vocal about it. I hope you love it as much as I do, and THANK YOU for all your support along this wild musical journey of mine. All my 🫀, Vic"

Fans were quick to take to social media as they penned their opinions about Victoria Justice's new single. Below are some of their remarks:

"Bro really said, “I’m a love zombie now, send help” 🧟‍♀️💔 streaming Love Zombie like it’s a survival horror for the heart.", joked a netizen.
"Victoria Justice spent years being dragged, lied on, hated & threatened by fake rumors + messy media. Now she has dropped her new single Love Zombie and we need to give her the justice she deserves 🫶💞", lauded another.
"SHES ACTUALLY SMART FOR RELEASING ON TAYLORS DAY BECAUSE ITS BECAME A THING NOW +STREAMS", noted a third.

Others also chimed in:

"It is SO GOOD guys I’m a new VICTORIA FAN what is this fandom name called, THIS SONG IS SO GOOD LIKE WHAT I LOVE IT AND THE BRIDGE AND CHRIUS AFTER THE BRIDGE IS SO MMMMMM ❤️ 🧟‍♀️", commented a fan.
"She is back! 🔥 Excited to hear what Victoria’s cooked up with Love Zombie feels like a perfect October drop.", hyped another.
"So refreshing after hearing The life of a show girl," penned a third.

Victoria Justice rose to fame in the mid-2000s with Nickelodeon hits like Zoey 101 and Victorious. Post-Nickelodeon, she appeared in films like Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List. She was also releasing singles.

As of now, Love Zombie stands alone. However, more new tracks from Justice could follow.
