Jackson Wang released his latest album, Magic Man 2, on July 18, 2025, a sequel to his 2022 album, Magic Man. The singer talked about the album in an exclusive interview with NME that was published on July 25, 2025:
“I think this album is definitely self-serving,” he explains. “It’s very personal to me. It’s one of those albums that, as a performer, as a singer, as an artist, I really needed in my life.”
Wang later talked about the album and how taking a break for over a year influenced its creative process:
“I think [for] a lot of us just living in society every single day, there’s a lot of different standards, right? That’s the reality of things. For me, I didn’t know the person that [I] was because for more than 10 years, it was just like, ‘Do this, do this, do this’. So it almost felt like, ‘Am I the me that people know, or am I me?’ But that comes to the question: ‘So what is me?”
The singer continued:
“I just needed time to not escape from myself and get to know myself better, how I feel about reality, society, humans, relationships… How do I feel about my family and what means the most to me? I think that was the person that I was always – not intentionally – escaping from. I faced it, and that’s basically what the entire album is about.”
Jackson Wang started his solo career journey in 2017, releasing several singles in the subsequent year. He released his debut album, Mirrors, on October 25, 2019. Aside from his solo career, Wang is also known for being part of the K-pop group Got7, alongside Mark, Jay B, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom.
Got7 released their debut album, Identify, in 2014. The group achieved prominence internationally with the album, Present: You, released on September 17, 2018.
Alongside his music career, Jackson Wang is known for having had endorsements with Midea, Armani Beauty, and more.
