Jessie J's album announcement comes after her breast cancer diagnosis
Jessie J's new album announcement comes after the singer was diagnosed with breast cancer. The singer first shared her diagnosis in a Instagram post on June 4, 2025:
"Hi, I've been going back and forth on a little bit on should I share it? I want to but there's lots of opinions outside and knowing that the media are going to make this bigger than it needs to be but also knowing I want to share it with my fans and the people that care about me and I'm also a sharer. I've always shared everything that I go through in my life."
The singer continued:
"Before no secrets came out I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word early. Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding on to the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period. I just wanted to be open and share it. One because selfishly I do not talk about it enough."
Jessie J added
"I'm not processing it because I'm working so hard. I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories. I'm an open book."
Jessie J continued:
"It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much. Similar and worse. Um, that's the bit that kills me. I just want to, just let you guys know wasn't something I planned but yeah I'm getting to keep my nipples that's good."
Jessie J ended that first announcement of her diagnosis with a message that she was going to disappear for some time out of public eye to have her surgery. The singer eventually had to cancel her North America tour, announcing in August that she needed a second surgery for her cancer.
The singer's upcoming album is her first new album since 2018's This Christmas Day. She is best known for her debut studio album, Who You Are, which was released in 2011. Her second best known album is her Alive, her second album.
Alongside her solo music career, Jessie J is known for being a judge on music contest shows such as The Voice Australia, The Voice UK, and The Voice Kids UK.
