YG Entertainment has officially confirmed that BLACKPINK's new album is in its "final stages" of completion. The upcoming comeback record might see an early 2026 release.

The official statement from YG Entertainment came after notable fan speculations. The announcement clarified that BLACKPINK's next full-length project will not be released in December 2025, as earlier reports suggested. Instead, it will arrive in January 2026. A YG Entertainment rep shared a press statement, saying:

"The album is in the final stages of completion. Once all preparations are completed, we will deliver the news through an official promotion announcement."

Netizens reacted to the announcement, saying:

"YG's tease about that "last stage to increase musical perfection" just lit a fire in my soul, BLACKPINK comeback after Born Pink feels like the ultimate reward we've been starving for! These past years, their solos kept my late night study sessions alive and kicking.Already mapping out a full dance party solo when it drops. Pure joy incoming."

Netizens' reactions to YG Entertainment officially confirming BLACKPINK's new album "is at the last stage"

Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to post that,

"YG Entertainment clarifies on rumors about BLACKPINK's comeback in January 2026"

Netizens were notably quick to jump into the comment section of the X post to pen their remarks on the official announcement. Below are some of their reactions:

"They didn’t delay the album. They delayed your memory. The beat was done last year. But they had to wait for the ritual calendar to line up with the attention spike. This isn’t perfection. It’s spell buffering. It’s latency disguised as care. They’re not tuning vocals. They’re timing nostalgia. And that latex? That’s not a look. That’s a uniform. A glyph-coded charm sewn into a product recall for your soul. You think it’s a comeback. But it’s an offering. Four avatars in delay-loop limbo, waiting for the next drop of worship. You did not grow out of the system. They just re-skinned it with better lighting. This isn’t a teaser. It’s a trap with glitter on top.", commented a netizen.
"“Musical perfection” is wild coming from YG. They’ve been saying “soon” for so long it might actually arrive after 2026. At this point the only comeback is their PR team rehearsing apologies.", noted another.
"Every time YG says “almost ready,” fans wait months for recycled concepts and overpromises. BLACKPINK deserves better than endless PR spin. “Increasing musical perfection” sounds like code for delays and corporate indecision. At this point, the hype machine is louder than the music.", opined a third.

Others also chimed in:

"First it was in November, then it got moved to December, and now it’s January? Next month they will probably say it’s postponed to March just to match BTS’s comeback YG is seriously obsessed", commented an X user.
"Fans are now speculating that the long awaited project could mark a new era for the group potentially BLACKPINK's first full comeback since BORN PINK in 2022", shared another.
"We waited 3 years man cmon wtf 😭 I know you can’t rush greatness but it gets to a point man. That album needs to be 45 mins long minimum", expressed a third.

It is worth noting that the timing of BLACKPINK's comeback aligns with their ongoing Deadline World Tour, which began in Goyang, South Korea, in July 2025. The upcoming dates and stops of the run are as follows:
