Rap icon Lil Wayne appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter earlier this week and talked about which athlete has made him starstruck. ESPN’s SportsCenter, Gary Striewski and Randy Scott asked the rapper to share his “Oh, Wow. That’s pretty cool” moment with any athlete.

The rap legend recalled a recent moment when he met LeBron James on a commercial set, linking it to when he met the NBA star as a high schooler. Lil Wayne described it as a “huge full circle moment” for him.

“I gotta say, when I finally met Bron as LeBron James. Because I met him when he was about, I think, 16. He came to a party, my boss at the time told me, he was like, ‘Yo, I need you to bring this kid with you to your show.’ And so the kid was LeBron, right? And to see him become who he was,” he said.
“I think it was a commercial we shot recently. I was on the set and just looking up at him and asking him about his son and the NBA. That was a huge full-circle moment for me. I don’t know about him, but for me, I was like, ‘What just happened?'” Lil Wayne added.

LeBron James and Lil Wayne have crossed paths at different moments. In 2005, the two icons met during James’s 21st birthday party. Another encounter was at Dre's NBA All-Star Weekend party in 2017.
