All the 19 songs in Lil Wayne's Tha Carter VI ranked from top to bottom

Since the album’s release, Written History has been making waves for including the iconic 1974 speech by Muhammad Ali before his boxing match against Sonny Liston. Overall, the track is enjoyable and a notable album feature.

2) Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy features a lively production that makes the listener nod along. The song features 2 Chainz who delivers rap lines that are funny and engaging.

3) Bein Myself

This track is an empowerment anthem that encourages self-expression. The sound was produced by Wayne’s longtime producer Mannie Fresh. The track utilises flutes for a unique sound.

4) Hip-Hop featuring BigXthaPlug & Jay Jones

BigXthaPlug begins hip-hop with a fiery verse before he duets with Lil Wayne on the chorus. The rap icons deliver punchlines that make the track memorable.

5) Banned from NO

Banned from NO is pays homage to the rapper’s earlier track Banned from TV from No Ceilings. The song has also been interpreted by many as a reference to his Super Bowl snub.

6) Welcome to Tha Carter

This track begins with a church choir chant which fades into the background introducing interpolated bars from Diddy’s 1997 track Money.

7) Loki’s Theme

Loki’s Theme is one of the most memorable tracks on the album because it introduces a club beat before impressively transitioning into rock.

8) Maria featuring Wyclef Jean and Andrea Bocelli

Italian powerhouse Andrea Bocelli delivers a melodious chorus of sonorous vocals while Lil Wayne raps a shoutout to Missy Elliott and dwells on some of his childhood trauma.

9) Alone in the Studio With My Gun featuring MGK and Kodak Black

The unlikely trio consisting of Machine Gun Kelly, Kodak Black and Lil Wayne left listeners hyped for more. MGK takes on the chorus, Wayne drops some bars, and Kodak Black chips are in some lines for good measure.

10) The Days featuring Bono

U2’s Bono and Wayne came together to create the upbeat single. The song was originally used as part of the NBA Finals and is a commentary on the sociopolitical state of the United States.

11) If I Played Guitar

This track showcases Wayne’s shift towards other experimental sounds and his aspirations to be a rockstar. In the track, a guitar strums as the rapper contemplates his romantic relationships.

12) Island Holiday

Lil Wayne hopped on Weezer’s Island in the Sun beat. In the TikTok-approved track, the rapper sings over Weezer’s guitar riff and interpolates some of Rivers Cuomo’s original lyrics.

13) Sharks featuring Jelly Roll and Big Sean

Lil Wayne recruited some of the industry’s finest on the Sharks track. Jelly Roll takes control of the chorus in his raspy voice while Big Sean and Lil Wayne drop bars about “new enemies” and snakes.

This track is particularly special as Lil Wayne and his son, Lil Novi, do justice to the beat. Mula Komin In sees Wayne praising his 14-year-old son for his aspirations and talent.

Another collaboration with one of his kids, Rari, sees Carter Junior on the chorus crooning about zooming in on a Rari through LA. Lil Wayne is in charge of chorus duty.

17) King Carter

While this track isn’t particularly unremarkable, it doesn’t feature the rapper himself but a narrator who hails Lil Wayne’s greatness. He is described as a Roman Empire ruler with a timeless reign.

18) Bells

The sound mix is almost chaotic as the track utilizes bell and chopper sounds for a dramatic effect. The song’s lyrics focus more drug puns and violence rather than coherent ideas.

19) Peanuts 2 N Elephant

The lyrics of the track are as confusing as the beat. The rapper repeatedly describes Donald Trump as the red elephant of the Republican Party over a sound that many have referred to as elephant noise.
