More details about Lorde's upcoming album Virgin
Virgin is Lorde's upcoming fourth studio album, and her most recent solo music project since her 2021 chart-topping studio album Solar Power.
Via her newsletter, the Solar Power hitmaker shared insights regarding her highly anticipated album, in which she describes how the album cover resonates with its theme.
Her statement reads:
“The colour of the album is clear like bathwater, windows, ice, spit. Full transparency. The language is plain and unsentimental. The sounds are the same wherever possible. I was trying to see myself, all the way through. I was trying to make a document that reflected my femininity: Raw, primal, innocent, elegant, openhearted, spiritual, masc.”

“I wrote this from the perspective of, ‘Well I could never say that,’ and I put off dealing with that. I was like, ‘This is for future Ella to deal with. And now, the day’s almost here, and future Ella’s going to have to put all these things out into the world.”.
