Hwasa earlier this year started her world tour with a North America tour that lasted from March 11 to April 3, 2025. The tour is the singer's first world tour in 2025.
Hwasa released her second EP, O, on September 19, 2024. The singer talked about her EP as well as other parts of her career in an exclusive interview with NME on October 18, 2024, talking about the EP's titular closing track:
"It portrays who Ahn Hye-jin [Hwasa’s real name] is; unmeasurably soft and fragile yet concrete inside, and keeps a unique cheeky characteristic. It’s been five years since I wrote this song, but I always listened to ‘O’ whenever I felt tired. It provides a shelter for me to rest."
Earlier in the interview, she talked about her career's direction and dream:
"At the beginning of my career […] I just had this big imagination and I had a dream that I really wanted to fulfil, so that’s why I had a lot of passion for it. Now, I think I’m going into more details within that frame of dream and imagination I originally had. Even in terms of the emotions, I really want to express those in more detail and delicacy."
At the end of the interview, the singer talked about what she was focusing on in her life:
"I am giving my best to enjoy and feel happiness, and it is something I put in the most effort. I’m just moving as my heart desires, and from that, I found myself more healthy and happy. Right now, I am beautiful and happy."
Hwasa started her career as part of the group Mamamoo in 2014, alongside Solar, Moonbyul, and Wheein. The group released two Korean-language albums and a Japanese-language album throughout their career. Hwasa released her debut solo EP, María, on June 29, 2020.
Aside from her music career, the singer is also known for her appearances on TV shows, including a cameo on Entourage in 2016 as well as Moving Voices and Bodymentary.
