BTS's hiatus due to compulsory military service is not slowing the Korean boy band from breaking records. Out of the group, Jimin, RM, V, Suga, and Jungkook are currently completing their enlistment. They are expected to be discharged in June, leading to a wave of excitement among fans. Members previously discharged, including J-Hope and Jin, have focused on their solo projects.
According to X user and fan account of the band, @btschartsdailyc, noted that the band became the "most streamed K-Pop act in 2025" on Spotify, surpassing Blackpink's Rose.
Netizens took to the comment section to congratulate the boy band. A fan (@Ashwayriyachohan) cheered:
"THE GOD OF K-POP."
"Keep streaming because the number 3 is close to bts," @MeliPortgas wrote.
A fan (@meliportgas) appeared to motivate other fans to keep streaming to avoid losing the position. They noted:
"Keep streaming because the number 3 is close to bts."
"Finally surpassed BURNO MARS," @Mang_kink noted.
Another fan (@NaniB59107934) looked at the streaming numbers more closely and specified the number of streams to maintain the position. They noted:
"Yes… but #3 is close and earns 3M more per day than BTS. If we don't increase our streams to 15.5M per day, they'll overtake us in 20 days. Plus, they're releasing an album in June. Sooo we have to stream harder. We need to focus on Fake Love, Home and Life Goes On or Run."
According to Pop Core (@popcore), the band has reportedly over "1.28 billion streams" in 2025. One user (@_rapperjk_) expressed excitement for their reunion and noted:
"Boys will be all be back soon!!"

BTS's last collaborative project, Proof, was released in 2022, after which the members reportedly decided to work on their solo endeavours. In approximately 50 days, all the members will have completed their compulsory military service.
More recently, news reports have revealed that a few of its members are paving their solo paths. Fans were pleasantly surprised when Jin made a special appearance with Coldplay during the latter's tour in South Korea. On the other hand, J-Hope is currently on his Hope On The Stage Tour, which is scheduled to wrap up in Osaka on June 1, 2025.
Even on a hiatus, the band continues breaking records, attributable to the large worldwide fan base. According to the Global Hallyu Survey of 2025, BTS was ranked the most popular Korean act for its seventh consecutive year.
The band is expected to reunite soon in June 2025. Meanwhile, fans are maintaining the streaming numbers so that the band can continue breaking records. The band's influence has been undeniable, and fans are hoping for a collaborative project once they get back together.
