The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival has already started. The festival will end on May 4, giving fans a chance to enjoy performances of headliners including Babyface, Luke Combs, Tems, and more. While fans wait for Weekend two, here are the highlights of the New Orleans Jazz Fest 2025 Weekend one that stole the show.

Flagboy Giz & The Wild Tchoupitoulas's performance was loved by the audience for its energy and musical mixes. The band played a number of hits, including Saint Joe and Uptown, which became crowd favorites.

Flagboy Giz also posted a tweet after his performance in which he wrote,

"I was so happy to be up there I didn’t know whether to smile, dance, or mean mug🤷🏾‍♂️ I was all over the place😂😂 Thank you @jazzfest for allowing me to be the First Indian to hit the stage this year… for a 2nd time (cuz i opened 2 years ago too) I hope this becomes a tradition"

Karl Denson made a return to Jazz Fest 2025 with his band, Tiny Universe. He also performed with the group Current Futures, David Shaw, and also joined Goose for the shows. It was his first main appearance in years, leaving fans excited.

Speaking of Goose, the band delivered a great performance at Jazz Fest. They played their first headlining set at the Gentilly Stage on Thursday, starting with their song 'Madhuvan.' They also played songs from their new album, Everything Must Go, which just came out on April 25.

Another highlight of the festival was the couple Perry and Alex Rankin getting married onstage in the Gospel Tent at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The ceremony took place around midday, with the newlyweds receiving heartfelt congratulations amid the ongoing festival.

Fans also enjoyed the performance of Lil Wayne with The Roots on Saturday, with the singer playing some of the biggest hits. Wayne was dressed in a black jacket with stripes on the sleeves, paired with a white shirt and black tie. He also wore thick black sunglasses and Balenciaga pants.

Another famous artist, Babyface, also performed on Saturday in Congo Square. The artist showed up in a silver and black Versace blazer.

Dave Matthews Band left the crowds excited with the first-ever performance of Cameo's Word Up. The band played their set for around two hours. Weekend 1 was a hit with social media users sharing their best moments from the festival.
