Jessica Simpson made her comeback at this year's MTV VMAs after nearly 20 years.
The songstress cum actress, 45, took to the red carpet of the ceremony in a goth glam dress from Christian Siriano with see-through fabric and a sweetheart neckline, marking her first time at the event since 2006. She tied her tresses up while her makeup was a smoky glam. She accessorized with some silver jewelry and black heels.
She also took to the stage at one point, after Ricky Martin's medley performance of his greatest hits, to honor him with the show's Latin Icon Award, which is the first of its kind. She returned once again, with her sister, Ashlee Simpson, to present Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars with the award for Best Collaboration for their track Die with a Smile.

As reported by several outlets, scores were preoccupied with Jessica Simpson's seemingly new looks, with many even taking to X to speculate that she may have gone under the knife. A few noticed that her lips were poutier than usual, while others claimed it could have been a facelift.
As reported by Epic Stream, Simpson previously admitted to opting for a “non-surgical facelift” brand, Emface, which she said was “irresistible.” However, she was simply promoting her collaboration with the brand.
“I can tell you that plastic surgery does not cure what’s inside,” she wrote in her 2020 memoir, Open Book. “Really, it’s about how you feel emotionally, and I was still just as hard on myself once those stitches were out. I still had work to do."
Jessica Simpson was reportedly referring to the two tummy tucks she had undergone in 2015, which left her recuperating from an infection for days.
As for this year's VMAs, she was visibly solo, with her estranged husband, Eric Johnson, 45, nowhere to be found. Per the Daily Mail, she and the former NFL star split up earlier this year. However, the parents, who share three kids, reunited in Las Vegas, where Ashlee Simpson was performing.
The pair were reportedly together for a decade, but according to The Sun, had been living separately before they announced their split. Jessica Simpson recently opened up to E! News about the split and visiting Ashlee during her performance:
"We are all a big, happy family, so it's important for all of us," she said. "We wouldn't have missed Ashlee, are you kidding me? It was such a moment," she continued. "I was a mess. I cried probably seven times."
