Are Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga set to compete for the top honors at the Grammys?

The Grammys have officially announced their nominations for next year, filled with newcomers and industry legends alike.

The Grammy 2026 nominations have officially been announced, and there might be a tough battle between Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar. Lamar has been nominated for 9 awards, the highest this year, while Gaga received 7. Both industry giants will be competing for the top honors of the night.

Lady Gaga has been nominated for Record of the Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Dance Pop Recording, and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album with her new grungy album "Mayhem". While Kendrick, who has the most nominations second year in a row, is nominated for Record of the Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Rap Performance (twice), Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album. Both artists are competing for the largest awards of the night, including Album Of The Year and Song Of The Year, with his record "GNX."

2026 Grammy Nominations

Besides this, there is still a huge competition at music's greatest night of the year. Following Gaga and Lamar, Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Leon Thomas received the most nominations, six each.

A lot of first-timers will also be celebrated at the show. BLACKPINK's Rose is the first K-Pop idol to be shortlisted for one of the Grammys' "Big Four" with her song "APT" featuring Bruno Mars. Along with her Olivia Dean, Lola Young, Addison Rae and global girl group Katseye received their first-ever Grammy nominations as well.
