Playboi Carti has updated his profile picture on X, prompting fans to speculate that there may be new music on the way.
Kurrco was the first to break the news on X, pointing out that the rapper's current DP is now a mirror selfie of an unknown individual with part black and part blond hair. Fans have already begun decoding its meaning, such as this one user who penned on X:
"Baby boi is dropping confirmed"
The comments didn't end there:
"he updates his pfp once every blood moon and y’all still treat him like he’s dropping tonight," someone quipped.
"Album time," another noted.
"OMG WE SO BACK," one more exclaimed.
"A metaphor for his lack of artistic creativity," a fourth user snapped.
See how the rest of X is reacting:
"dont care he fell off after all that stupid emo sh*t he's too old to be actin like that," one user opined.
"Guapo era might be back for BABYBOI…or I’m delusional," someone else chimed in.
"I already feel nostalgic for his old pfp wtf," another user quipped.
"IT MEANS WE’RE GETTING CLOSER TO BABY BOI," yet another exclaimed.
A large number of the rapper's fans are visibly excited, as seen in the comments section. However, as of this writing, further details about an upcoming project remain unclear, as the rapper has yet to address it himself.
A look at Playboi Carti's next few months as he prepares to hit the road:
In other news, Playboi Carti recently wrapped up a leg of The Weeknd's After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour on August 3 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. However, he will rejoin the Blinding Lights singer as they head to Latin America and Europe in the coming year.
The duo will be performing for back-to-back shows at the Estadio GNP Seguro in Mexico this April, while Anitta will join them in May as a supporting act. Playboi Carti is expected to hit the road for his own tour, Antagonist Tour, this fall. The tour had been postponed almost two years ago, making the excitement palpable.
Playboi Carti is expected to join forces with Destroy Lonely, Ken Carson, Homixide Gang, and Apollo Red this October 3 at Salt Lake City’s Delta Center, before they traverse across several arenas. They will close out with a show in their hometown of Atlanta at the State Farm Arena on Dec. 1.
