More about the possibility of Backstreet Boys collaboration with *NSYNC
During his interview with Parade on July 3, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys revealed a few exciting details about the possible future collaboration with *NSYNC. He said:
"We’ve talked about it a ton, actually. We’ve had those conversations internally [with] managers. It just hasn’t lined up yet.”
He shared insight into how the collaboration with another band came about. He said that the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block NKOTBSB reunion tour, which took place in 2011, was an eye-opening experience for everyone, paving the path for possible future collaborations with other bands. He said:
"We did it with New Kids on the Block, and that was a really great experience for us and the fans because they never thought that it would ever happen. So we’re always thinking of really cool collaborations like that, and it has come up as a conversation.”
Carter further added:
"Because they never thought that it would ever happen. So we’re always thinking of really cool collaborations like that, and it has come up as a conversation.”
In 2021, there was a mini Backstreet Boys and *NYSNC reunion when AJ McLean and Chris Kirkpatrick from their respective bands performed at the Music for Life Fundraiser, organized by David Siegel, in memory of his daughter Jackie, who passed away from an overdose back in 2015.
Although previously in a recent interview with E! News, AJ McLean had said that he could not confirm the possibility of a collaboration. McLean explained that he would not want to disappoint his fans, noting that *NSYNC has not produced music in the past twenty-two years, whereas Backstreet Boys have been continuously working together since returning from their two-year break in 2005. He said:
"They haven't done something in over 22 years. And we're gonna keep doing what we do. However, No one knows what the future holds."
According to Entertainment Weekly, in 2021, Nick Carter and AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys, along with Joey Fatone and Lance Bass of *NSYNC, were seen performing at an L.A. pride event, once again giving fans hope for a full-fledged collaboration sometime in the future.
