Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez know just how they want their wedding to be.
The music producer, 37, and his pop star bride-to-be, 32, have been dating since 2023. They got engaged in December 2024. Per Just Jared, during a recent interview with Jake Shane on his Therapuss podcast, Blanco opened up on the wedding planning.
“Honestly, I really want to take a little break,” he said, and added: “I’ve been working so much. I’ve realized I haven’t really had much time off in a while and I’m about to just, I just want to lay in bed and forget what day it is because we’ve been in bed just watching stuff.”
When Jake asked him if he liked that, he said:
“Not usually but with Selena, I can do it all day. She makes me want to hang out and cuddle, just watch things, just eat food, and have piles of food around us and have the best time ever.”
He then revealed that the two hope to work on what they want for their big day this summer:
“That wedding is going to be lit,” Shane quipped, and Blanco agreed: “I think so. I think it will be like chill. It’ll be chill.”

In his interview with Shane, Benny Blanco, who is a Grammy winner, also got candid about why they need to chill after working so hard:
“We’ve both been working so much. We got engaged and then we were filming music videos for our album then we then it’s holidays, then right after the holidays we had to start all the promo for our stuff, do that.” He went on: “Then she left to film her show Only Murders [in the Building] and then I met her then we hung out for a week and then right after that it’s promo and then I’m writing another book so then I had to write a book and then she came back for one day here and then it was my birthday and you know.”
Elsewhere in the segment, the multi-platinum producer got candid about struggling with intrusive thoughts as a result of obsessive compulsive disorder and how he would cope with them as a child. According to Billboard, he said:
“When I was a kid, I used to have this thing where I had to go ‘mmph.’ If I didn’t do it, I thought my parents were going to die.” He added: “Now I have little things where I touch parts of my face or make a fake cough sound — literally hundreds of times a day. It’s involuntary.”
However, he has since learned to eliminate any behavior that others may find annoying:
“I got rid of all the things that are really annoying to another person. I still do little things like making sure everything in my shower is facing forward. But that’s insane regardless of OCD,” he said.
Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez were spotted just this week enjoying a date night at Sushi Park in West Hollywood, according to a Hola! report. The singer cum Rare Beauty founder sported a black oversized trench coat, a black dress beneath it, and left her tresses loose. As for Blanco, he had on a baby blue polo shirt, cream-colored chinos, and brown loafers.
In a June 2025 interview with InStyle, Benny Blanco recounted his first encounter with his partner.
“I met Selena when she was 16,” he said, revealing that their mom introduced them professionally, adding: “We didn’t work together until many years later. They say you've probably already met the person that you're gonna spend the rest of your life with… I never believed that sh*t until it happened to me.”
He continued:
“And now I get to kiss her,” and added: “It’s like my own little fairytale I concocted.”
He also opened up about wanting to expand his family with Gomez.
“I love kids; I love being an uncle,” Benny Blanco said. “I want to be a dad, though, God willing. I'm just dreaming and praying every day.”
In the meantime, at 37 years old, he is keen on being the best version of himself for his future wife.
“I hope I know how to treat a woman by now!" Benny Blanco said. "Like, you should always ask a woman what they wanna do. Don't always talk about yourself. Then you put it into practice… and you f*ck up so much, oh my God. You know how many frogs I had to kiss to get to Selena?”
