BLACKPINK’s Rosé, who has scored several firsts in her illustrious career, has achieved another milestone as the first female K-pop soloist to have album sales of over 500,000 units in the United States. This achievement comes after her massive hit, APT, released in October 2024, became the first song from a female K-pop soloist to reach the number one spot on the Spotify Global chart.

The song became the fastest to reach 300 million streams in 2024, and the biggest streaming day for an Asian female. Rosie also surpassed BTS and broke the record for highest monthly Spotify listeners, with over 50 million in a month.

Chart Data shared the news of Rosé’s new feat in terms of US album sales on X. They wrote:

The New Zealand-born member of the popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has had an impressive run as a solo artist. Rosé boasts several career records and sold-out shows. The singer’s debut single album, R, was released in March 2021 and had the highest first-week sales of any Korean female soloist, selling over 448 thousand copies.

According to Wikipedia, the album debuted at the second place on the Gaon Album Chart (renamed The Circle Album Chart since then), and became the best-selling album by a female soloist in the chart’s music history. The music video for her track, On the Ground, raked in over 41.6 million views on the first day and earned the BLACKPINK member a Guinness World Record for the most-viewed music video by a Korean soloist in 24 hours.

R has amassed over 1.1 billion streams on YouTube music and is the most streamed album by a Korean female soloist on the platform. The music video of her mega-hit APT raked in over 311.2 million views in just 23 days and became the most-viewed music video by a K-pop artist on YouTube in 2024.

She made Billboard history with APT as the first song by a K-pop female soloist to rank top-ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


BLACKPINK’s world tour begins on July 5, 2025, in Seoul, South Korea, and will run through the United States, Canada, and Europe, before its grand finale in London on August 16, 2025.
