“Bigger than Taylor Swift”: Fans react as Lady Gaga starts countdown on her website ahead of New York Show

Lady Gaga has gotten fans gagged with a surprise countdown on her website.

Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, who is currently travelling the world on her Mayhem Ball Tour, just launched a surprise countdown clock on her website. The clock comes ahead of her show on Friday night, August 22, which is taking place at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

The countdown is pasted on top of New York’s Voices of Mayhem prompt,

“Who did you become when you stopped pretending to belong?”

is set to end at 7:15 pm ET. Fans have been theorising what the sudden countdown could mean, as the Grammy winner has also jumped on this new countdown trend. While some suggest it could be another album, her last one, "Mayhem", came out earlier this March, others believe it is just when her "Voices of Mayhem" opens, and fans shouldn't really expect anything major.

Little monsters, or Lady Gaga's fans, are over the moon as they predict, this could be “bigger than Taylor Swift.” They are flooding the internet with theories and excitement.

One fan noted, "the last time she did a countdown was for mayhem reveal… im SHAKING"

Another expressed, "Oh... Anticipation is its own performance... Lady Gaga launching a countdown before her New York show turns the wait into part of the spectacle."

However, one user didn't quite appreciate it, "but isn’t it wild how artists now treat concerts like launchpads for brand reveals instead of purely musical experiences?"

While one user stated, "Countdowns for concerts? Pretty sure people would show up even if she just whispered it on TikTok"

Another guessed, "Gaga doesn’t do random. If there’s a countdown, there’s chaos coming . Album? Tour? Alien transmission? Either way, I’m not sleeping tonight."

Some netizens were also comparing her countdown to Taylor Swift, accusing the "Abracadabra" singer of copying. Taylor also had recently added countdowns to her website to reveal the different versions of her upcoming album, "The Life of a Showgirl."
