Justin Bieber has announced a surprise sequel to his last album, SWAG II.
The singer's last album was a surprise in itself to fans, and he is doubling down on it with another one that drops tonight. Pop Base broke the news on X, though Justin Bieber also took to his Instagram to share a video of a billboard with the title of his album plastered across a pink background.
Fans have since begun reacting to the news with amusement, such as one user who penned on X:
"bro's been pushing this one with the random media"
The comments didn't end there:
"SWAG II sounds like a parody of his own career. Dropping this now feels less like evolution and more like clinging to old hype. If Bieber’s whole move is recycling the past, the music game already passed him by. Sorry," one naysayer penned.
"NO PLEASE NOT A NEW ALBUM," another snarky user demanded.
"We don’t want another flop," one more chimed in.
"Let's see if it's gonna be good," a fourth user remarked.
See how the rest of X is reacting:
"justin bieber got to stop singing atp, we’re tired," someone trolled.
"two surprise albums in just 1 year? someone tell him he is not taylor swift," another dissed.
"Justin out here dropping SWAG II like we all needed the sequel. Honestly, if the first didn’t hit your soul, the second might just hit your streaming history. Biebs really keeps the hustle alive, swag never sleeps," yet another weighed in.
"WE WILL ALL BE STREAMINGGGG," a fan exclaimed.
Everything we know about Justin Bieber's forthcoming album:
Justin Bieber dropped SWAG just two months ago, Independent has reported, and is now following it up with a part two. Josh Hewitt, who works as a social content creator at the singer's label, Universal Music Group, first shared the video of the Billboard, which is reportedly located in East London.
The first LP comprised 21 tracks, and it dropped on July 11 after a string of similar, cryptic billboards appeared across the city and online. Bieber, who served as the co-producer, worked with other artists like Dijon, mk.gee, and Eddie Benjamin. One of its tracks, Daisies, topped the UK charts to become his eighth No. 1 single.
The Grammy-award-winning artist's SWAG was his first in four years, with the last one being 2021's Justice. SWAG II will now be his eighth studio album, and Capital FM has reported that it debuts at midnight on Friday, September 5. As of this writing, further details remain unclear.
