Jung Ho-seok (J-Hope from BTS) will be the first South Korean singer to headline Lollapalooza Chicago in the summer of 2022. He played 18 songs for over 100,000 people on July 31, 2022, the last day of the Grant Park event. These are his best solo and BTS songs. He won accolades for his energetic and inventive performance, which established a new standard for K-pop musicians at international events.

J-Hope announced his return to Lollapalooza Chicago for the 2025 edition, set to take place at Grant Park from July 31 to August 3, during an impromptu session on X (previously Twitter) on June 17, 2025.

Sadly, he had to tell her that he couldn't modify his plans in time for the event since he was already busy with his "Hope on the Stage" tour, preparing for his next album, and other promotional work.

J-Hope couldn't make time for Lollapalooza Chicago 2025: more details explored

J-Hope's first solo global tour, "Hope on the Stage," was confirmed for January 2025. It would transport him throughout North America and Asia. The North American leg went from mid-March to mid-June 2025, with stops in New York, Chicago, Mexico City, San Antonio, Oakland, and Los Angeles.

The tour, which was his first big live performance since his mandated military duty, was a smashing success, selling out venues throughout the country in record time.

The news stunned and moved everyone at the event, including the BTS ARMY. Supporters of J-optimism's return to the Lollapalooza lineup expressed their hope that his schedule conflicts were just temporary.

As a stop on his North American tour in March of 2025, he will be performing at Chicago's Allstate Arena. Although some were relieved, others were unhappy that they would not get the opportunity to see him perform at Chicago's renowned stadium again.

Although J-Hope will not be playing in Chicago this year, he will be appearing at other events. Along with Justin Timberlake and Gracie Abrams, he will be the main act at Lollapalooza Berlin on July 12 and 13, 2025. He is participating in the European competition for the second time.

His historic performance in Chicago in 2022 is followed by his involvement in Berlin. The practice of K-pop artists performing at festivals outside of Korea is becoming more and more common.

The jam-packed 2025 schedule that J-Hope has put up is a reflection of his creative drive and commitment to providing high-quality performances. Insiders say his upcoming solo album will have a combination of new creative ideas, and he has a packed schedule between his "Hope on the Stage" tour, his headlining performance at Lollapalooza Berlin, and other commitments.

J-Hope was thankful for the invitation and the ARMY's support all around the world. He was disappointed that he couldn't travel to Lollapalooza Chicago in 2025, but he was determined to engage fans in new ways (via tours, festival stages, or special project releases) and wanted to go back to Grant Park whenever he could.
