BTS' Taehyung is making headlines once again—this time for more than just his viral gym photos. The idol recently took home the ‘Best Solo & Featuring’ award at the K-Chart 1st Season Awards for his 2024 track Winter Ahead. Remarkably, the soulful song was released on November 29, 2024, while Taehyung was serving in the military.
Fans of BTS' Taehyung appeared overjoyed with his latest award. As a result, his followers swamped the internet with their love and admiration for the idol. One user on X commented:

Several other fans gave mixed reactions to BTS’ V for his song’s latest achievement. While some said that he deserved the recognition, others congratulated Kim Taehyung.

Kim Taehyung’s Winter Ahead was released in November 2024
As of this writing, BTS' Taehyung is enlisted in the obligatory South Korean military service. He kicked off his training on December 11, 2023, along with his bandmate Kim Namjoon.
While he was serving his term, BIGHIT Music launched V’s collaborative track Winter Ahead, made with another musician, Park Hyo-shin. The song came out on November 29, 2024. The duo also dropped an official music video and a Cinematic Still version on YouTube.
Soon after its debut, on November 30, the song broke the previous record set for the biggest jazz debut on Spotify, with over 4.2 million streams. Kim Taehyung outperformed Icelandic-Chinese artist Laufey's From the Start, which had over 1.1 million streams.
On December 29, Winter Ahead reached a big milestone by breaking 100 million Spotify streams. BTS' Taehyung's independent composition ended up being his fastest track to cross this mark in just 29 days of release.
Aside from BTS' V, other members of the group are finishing their respective military stints, including Jungkook, SUGA, and Jimin. Jungkook and Jimin began their service in December 2023. SUGA, on the other hand, entered the military in September 2023.
Currently, only Jung Hoseok and Kim Seokjin have been released from their training. Both of them completed their duties in 2024. As a result, BTS is scheduled to reconvene in June 2025, following the release of the remaining members.
