Chuck Mangione was born on November 29, 1940, in Rochester and was found to have a great interest in music at an early age when he performed alongside his brother Gap in the Jazz Brothers. After graduating from the Eastman School of Music, he popularized jazz music and broke into the mainstream culture when jazz became more of a niche.

He released over 30 albums across six decades of music-making, and also held the Director position at the Eastman School of Music’s jazz ensemble. He was a revered artist in the music industry and won two Grammys. His records, such as "Bellavia" and "Feels So Good," are still considered musical works of art today.

Chuck Mangione had an image with the curly hair and beard that one could not forget, and his style of playing flugelhorn inspired many musicians throughout his career. Although he had turned a little bit less active over the years that have transpired since then, the impact that Mangione made on pop culture was also commendable, as he was a recurring character on the King of the Hill animated series.

Chuck's ability to make jazz part of major cultural moments was unparalleled, as he also brought jazz to the Winter Olympics with “Give It All You Got” in 1980.
