Actor Colman Domingo is slamming critics of his drag look in Sabrina Carpenter’s latest music video.
In The Rocky Horror Picture Show inspired Tears music video, the Euphoria actor plays a mad scientist in the vein of his counterpart from the film, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Social media users seemed perturbed by the fact that another acclaimed man of color was requested to dress as a woman.
Although he was not tagged in the numerous comments, Domingo took to his X account to share his views,
“It’s a character. Like all the characters I play. Calm down brother. Enjoy the video and the fun that it possesses. Dance it out! It ain’t that deep. ‘We are born naked and everything else is drag’ Suits, t shirts, dresses. All drag.”
The video for ‘Tears’ premiered on August 29 alongside the release of Carpenter's most recent album, Man's Best Friend.
