On September 12, text messages between producer Dave Blunts and Kanye West surfaced online where Blunts allegedly cut ties with the artist and urged him to "find god."

In the screenshots, Blunts said,

"Ye, I myself can no longer continue to work on this album. Im going on my own journey and it does not alight with what you want me to do. I appreciate the opportunity but respectfully I'm out."

To which West reportedly replied saying,

"Ok thank you. What are the parts that didn't align."

And Blunts said,

"You are very lost. Please find god."

This comes after Blunts took to Instagram stories this week to clarify that he will not be collaborating with Kanye in the future and urged people not to ask him about any music they've worked on together. In the story, Blunts remarked,

"Stop asking me about YE music I don't work w dude anyone I'm on my own path."

Has Dave Blunts collaborated with Kanye West before?

Yes, Dave Blunts has been credited as a writer on multiple Kanye West tracks.

Blunts is credited as a songwriter on West's track WW3 which was released on March 26, 2025. He also has songwriting credits on West's other tracks, COUSINS (released in April, 2025), along with Heil Hitler.

The two have supported each other over the years and in April 2025, Blunts shared screenshots of a lighthearted exchange between them, where Kanye West said,

"This is more important than the album. We're like Ye and Silent Bob. Getting banned from Twitter is worse than being in China trying to load p**n with no VPN. I'll just start spamming you with my tweet ideas."

The two initially began their music partnership when Kanye, after hearing some of Blunts' music, suggested connecting him with his trainer. As per Complex, West told him, "We need you to stay alive." Blunts claimed to have reached approximately 600 pounds.

From there onwards, the two began creating music together. Blunts claims to have written every single song on Kanye's upcoming album Cuck, In a Perfect World. West later also confirmed Blunts' contribution and took to X saying, "We would talk for hours, then he'd write three songs in a day.

Dave Blunts or Davion Blessing, is a Utah-born rapper and singer who has been recording and releasing music on social media since 2018.
