Singer Dominic Fike’s performance at Lollapalooza over the weekend seems to have taken everyone by surprise. According to the Chicago Sun Times, towards the end of his performance, he brought his little son on stage. Fike also played with the baby’s musical instrument and took him on his lap.

In January 2025, Fike collaborated with BLACKPINK’s Jennie on Love Hangover. In the song, the singer seemingly hints at becoming a father. The lines are:

“She gon' leave me, but she wants to keep me on, what's up with that?/I don't even really got time for all that sh*t right now, l'm a baby father/And all them jokes she told at dinner last night ain't had me dead, I was playing possum.”

While performing at Lollapalooza, Dominic Fike shared that it had been a long time since he last sang in front of a crowd. He took a deep breath and said he knew people at the festival were probably mainly waiting to see Sabrina Carpenter. He asked the audience to be present and connect with him during the show, regardless of their feelings.

Before one of his songs, he said it wasn’t his own but felt more meaningful now than ever. However, instead of naming the song, he began talking about a girl he used to live with who listened to Coldplay frequently.

Dominic Fike on being swooned by smiles and how his friend stole bikes

In 2023, Dominic Fike sat down with Amelia Dimoldenberg on Chicken Shop Date. When Amelia asked the singer what kind of person he liked, he said he didn’t have a specific type and just liked people who were kind to him. He said even a simple smile could make a difference.

Then, when she asked if he trusted people with face tattoos, he said he didn’t have any friends who had tattoos on their faces. Referring to the tattoo on his face, Amelia asked if that was Apple’s, to which Fike replied affirmatively. Amelia said:

“Cause you love capitalism.”

He responded:

“My little sister, her name is Apple.”

Amelia asked Dominic if he was a Capricorn, and he agreed. She then said that people with that sign are usually good at creating strong and steady relationships. Dominic Fike replied that those ideas sounded like general rules that could fit anyone. He also mentioned that he didn’t think he had ever dated someone who was an Aquarius. Fike also said:

“I'm 27 now and I already feel the stress of life just weighing down on me. My knees are buckling.”

Amelia asked Dominic Fike how someone might steal a bike. Dominic shared a story from when he was around 19 and had no place to stay. He talked about a friend named Matt who would take a photo of a bike and post it online to sell.

Once someone agreed to buy it, Matt would figure out how to break the lock or open it somehow. Then, he would give the bike to the buyer and get around $80. They did this at a few different schools so they could earn enough money to travel to another city and stay in a hotel.
