Did Liam and Noel Gallagher just mock their own £40,000 ticket scandal at Oasis’ Cardiff show?

Oasis kicked off their highly anticipated reunion tour on July 4, 2025, with a packed show at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, marking their first performance together in 16 years. As the band ran through a career-spanning set in front of over 70,000 fans, both Noel and Liam Gallagher took time to joke about last year’s headline-making ticket price controversy.

While leading vocals on a string of songs, Noel quipped:

“I hope it was worth £175 of anybody’s money. Sorry, £210. Sorry, £250.”

Later during the show, Liam took his own jab at the saga:

“What’s happening? You alright? Yeah, you’re having a good time, yeah? Was it worth the £40,000 you paid for a ticket?”

The brothers’ comments referenced the chaotic Oasis Live 2025 ticket sale last summer, which left many fans frustrated by long wait times and fluctuating prices. The band previously stated they were not aware that “dynamic pricing” would be put in practice and emphasized the following:

“Prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans... The execution of the plan failed to meet expectations.”

In an attempt to make up for the backlash, Oasis later introduced a limited, invitation-only ticket ballot for two Wembley shows this September.

Earlier this year, Noel reflected on the overwhelming demand for the reunion:

“I thought it’d be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was.”

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority has since accused Ticketmaster of potentially breaching the law and misleading fans during the sale. The legal pressure on the ticketing giant continues to mount.

Oasis reunites after 16 years: Noel and Liam Gallagher share the stage again in Cardiff

After years of public feuding and a 16-year hiatus, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher reunited on Friday night for Oasis' first performance since 2009. The long-awaited moment took place in front of 74,500 fans at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, marking the start of their global reunion tour.

The show opened at 8:15 p.m. sharp with a fitting choice, "Hello," before launching into "Acquiesce," a B-side fan favorite from 1995. Many had already predicted the setlist after a leak surfaced days before the show.

Before their third track, “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”, Liam greeted the crowd:

“Hello, people, it’s been too long.”

He followed with:

“It’s good to be back, good to be back... Yes, beautiful people!”

Decked in their signature looks — Noel in denim and Liam in his parka — the pair took the stage beneath a giant screen flashing the words:

“This is not a drill.”

While the brothers largely kept their distance during the show, reportedly rehearsing separately in the lead-up, there was a flash of unity when Liam briefly grabbed Noel’s arm and raised it to the crowd, drawing roaring applause.

A black-and-white photo posted to Oasis’ Instagram shortly after the show showed Liam with his arm around his older brother.

As the night neared its end, Noel shouted during the encore track "The Masterplan":

“This one is for all the people in their twenties that haven’t seen us before, who’ve kept this st going for the last f***ing 20 years.”

The night closed out with a trio of classics: "Don’t Look Back in Anger," "Wonderwall," and finally, "Champagne Supernova."

The band is set to play a second night in Cardiff on July 5, before moving on to multiple sold-out dates in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin. The tour will also reach fans across North and South America, Asia, and Australia later this year.
