The main stage of Tomorrowland has been engulfed in flames.

As of this writing, an intense fire has ravaged the main stage at the festival, prompting firefighters to rush to the scene to control the flames. The Mirror has reported that the incident took place in Boom, Belgium. While there were no attendees on site, about 1,000 staff members had been working at the time.

As of this writing, the cause of the flames remains unclear, and details about any injuries reported also remain scarce. Firefighters are currently fighting to control and extinguish the flames. Express UK has reported that all locals have been urged to shut their doors and windows.

Everything we know about the inferno at Tomorrowland as nothing but the bones of the main stage are left behind:

Thousands from around the world were expected to make it to the festival, scheduled from Friday to Sunday. Right now, it is unknown if the incident will impact the festival's schedule and timeline. However, another week of festivities was slated for July 25 to 27.

According to Express UK, just last year, over 400,000 people attended the festival, from over 200 countries. According to The Mirror, this year, Tomorrowland Belgium was expected to take in over 800,000 people across both weekends.

In videos going viral right now, thick plumes of smoke can be seen billowing from the main stage of the festival, and fireworks can also be heard, though it is unclear where they originate. Several videos online indicate that the fire erupted on the right side of the stage.

In other videos of the aftermath, it seems as though the flames have decimated the structure, leaving nothing but its frame. Emergency services can be seen at the scene. RA has reported that a spokesperson named Debby Wilmsen has since issued a statement that reads as follows:

"We don't know the exact cause yet. But our first priority now is to bring everyone to safety...after that, we will continue to communicate."

Another spokesperson reportedly told The Mirror:

"Our priority now is the safety of our visitors and those in the surrounding area."

This year's festivities at Tomorrowland were expected to host Rmin van Buuren, Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens, Alok, and FISHER. They were all expected to take to the main stage.

Tomorrowland was founded in 2005 and is renowned as one of Europe's largest and most popular destinations for electronic music lovers. This is not the first time a fire has been ignited at the festival. Back in 2017, over 22,000 people were forced to evacuate after flames erupted during the event in Barcelona.
