Demon Hunter has made a comeback recently by releasing its new single I'm Done.

The song's release marks the band’s sixth standalone single since their 2022 album Exile, and has been produced by band members Jeremiah Scott and Ryan Clark. The release of the song was also accompanied with a music video that was met with great excitement from their loyal fans.

Demon Hunter's last album, Exile, was a huge hit and had peaked at #9 on Billboard Album sales. The band has since shifted its focus to releasing standalone singles rather than full-length albums, and I'm Done follows the release the the band's last standalone song, Falling Apart.

The song's release also caused a stir on social media, as fans rushed in to express their excitement at the song's release:

"Weekend starts with a random demon hunter single??? Now we're talking", commented one elated fan.
"This song is awesome! Can't wait to hear more new songs!", exclaimed another.
"Can't wait for a new album with how good the recent stuff has been", remarked another fan.
"OMG! I literally needed this! Demon Hunter has been helping me through this rough past year! I just pulled out all of my vinyl's and listened to them", added a fourth fan.

The fans didn't stop there, as more reactions followed thereafter:

"Very nice surprise headed into the weekend!", quipped one fan.
"Will all these singles that have been releasing eventually be on an album? I still like CDs and listening to full albums", wondered another.

Another fan complimented the lyrics of the song:

"Hang me by my tongue” whata line. So true"

With the metal band's live performances decreasing over the years, one fan had a very specific request for the band in mind, which he shared on social media:

"One awesome concert would you guys with skillet or discipline on tour together. When you guys come to St. Louis, do the concert on Friday or Saturday"

Demon Hunter - a brief history

Demon Hunter was founded by vocalists Ryan Clark and his brother Don Clark in 2000, and the band released its first album in 2002. Since then, the band has made a name for themselves in the metal music genre, with major successes including Storm the Gates of Hell (2007) and The Triptych (2004).

Demon Hunter has also faced their share of difficulties over the years - from changes in personnel to controversies surrounding its perception - but the band has been a part of the metal music scene by overcoming its problems over the past 20 years.

In an interview conducted with NRT in 2021, the band's frontman, Ryan Clark spoke about the future he envisions for Demon Hunter,

"It's hard to say. I don't want to give too much away and it's also hard to say because songs are a certain way in their demo form, like at this stage. I feel like after these 10, or 11, records, we can guide fans into a new chapter if we want to, without feeling like fans will bail on us."
"There's always a certain element to Demon Hunter songs and they'll stay. But I think there is a natural evolution over time that is appropriate. There are some areas we haven't explored, or explored much. We won't be experimenting in a way that leaves fans jaded or anything. We already have a wide range of styles that we have covered too, so our playground is big in that sense"

Whether I’m Done proves to be a standalone statement or a precursor to a new album is open to interpretation, but it demonstrates the band's ability, which is now into its third decade, to defy expectations by producing engaging music.
