Alt-rock act Garbage are officially set to return to Australia and New Zealand in December 2025. It will be their first headline shows in nearly a decade. The upcoming tour was announced by Frontier Touring. It will see the band performing a run of intimate theatre concerts across Auckland, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney, alongside festival slots at Good Things Festival 2025.
These newly announced concerts are being dedicated to the late Michael Gudinski, the beloved Mushroom Group founder who played a key role in Garbage's career in the region. Garbage's 2025 Australian and New Zealand tour will be their first headline outing in the region since 2016. It is also their first visit to New Zealand since 2013.
The tour announcement follows the release of Garbage's eighth studio album, Let All That We Imagine Be the Light, which dropped in May 2025.
Garbage took to their official Instagram page to announce the upcoming AU/NZ run, captioning:
"AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND. Reposting this due to the fact that we were given wrong information regarding our Melbourne side show. We should all be straight now. 🥴 We are delighted to announce that we have added some extra side shows to our previously announced appearances in Australia and New Zealand."
The post continued:
"This will be our first return to Australia since losing our mentor and iconic Ozzie, Michael Gudinski. All shows will be played in honour of him. Our beloved and dearly missed friend. Ps. Speaking about the upcoming run, frontwoman Shirley Manson said,
"To be able to return to sacred, stunning New Zealand and to Australia, the home country of our most beloved music business guru, Michael Gudinski, is an immense thrill for us as a band.
