Glasses Malone is taking shots at Drake and Gunna.
In his new music video for Wanted, featuring Jurassic 5 and LA Giantz, Malone has assembled his West Coast allies to slam the Hotline Bling rapper for being an alleged snitch. He was taking shots at the latter's decision to file a lawsuit against UMG after losing his rap battle to Kendrick Lamar, TMZ has reported.
The six-minute video is set in a courtroom and even features cameos from court reporter Meghann M. Cuniff and Justin "The Company Man" Hunte, a hip hop podcaster. What really stirred the pot, however, was the presence of a Drake impersonator.
Fans have since begun reacting to the video with amusement online, with some even jokingly pointing out that Drake will be reacting to the video with a cease and desist. Here's what one user penned on X,
"He bouta sue and send all kinds of cease and desist watch [string of laughing emojis]"
The comments didn't end there:
"Glasses you hilarious man," one user remarked.
"I can smell the court documents being drafted already," someone else jokingly chimed in.
"Drake on the stand got me crying," another noted.
"The emotionless fake Drake is hilarious," a fourth user opined.
See how the rest of the internet is reacting:
"Yeah if I was failed rapper like this I’d hate Drake too. N*gga begging people to listen to him using Drake name," one fan remarked.
"I need to know how long did it take yall to find the Drake look-a-like cause this is too spot on the nose," someone else quipped.
"MORE OG'S NEED TO BE DOING THIS! THANK YOU FOR BEING THE EXAMPLE WE NEED GLASSES!" another exclaimed.
"Couldnt help but mention his name again? I wanna see rappers release without attaching that battle to their rollouts i dont blame you tho the first of the month is quickly approaching get that rent money together cuh , das onna set cuh," yet another pointed out.
Scores online found the debacle funny, though a few did claim that Glasses Malone was only taking shots at the Canadian rapper for fame and clout.
Glasses Malone doubles down on the Drake slander: Read more
Notably, this isn't the first time Glasses Malone has taken shots at Drake. Earlier this year, as reported by Hot New Hip Hop, he sat down for a conversation with DJ Akademiks. Shortly after news broke out that the Toronto rapper was suing UMG, he told AK that Drake was fated to lose because he was not a good representation of "culture."
"It's not 'cuse he's from Toronto," Glasses Malone said. "It's cuse he's a Jewish man from the suburbs." DJ Akademiks tried his best to refute this stance, but Glasses Malone dug in his heels. "He's just not hip hop," he said. "Hip hop is street urban culture. He's a pop artist, he's Madonna as a rapper."
He then referenced the rapper's shifting trends in music, noting that Drake takes to hip hop in the same way a pop artist takes to a popular genre:
"One week he'll have a lowrider under the Bay Bridge and he's a West Coast artist," the rapper posited. "Next week, he's a New York artist and he started from the bottom."
Notably, though, when Kendrick Lamar won the Grammy award this year for his Drake diss track Not Like Us, he thanked the Los Angeles rappers who nudged him into becoming the artist he is today, and Glasses Malone was one of them.
"[Glasses] Malone, Problem, Bad Lucc, K-Boy, Daylyt, Mykestro, these the cats that inspired me to be the MC that I am today," he said in his final acceptance speech of the evening.
