"Her condition has declined": KATSEYE’s Manon to miss summer sonic Tokyo performance due to health concerns

KATSEYE will be taking the stage at Summer Sonic Tokyo without one of its members, Manon.

On August 17 KST, the group’s agency confirmed that the idol will be sitting out of the festival performance after experiencing health concerns. The agency explained via Weverse:

“Her condition has declined upon landing in Tokyo."

They added that “she has since made the decision after consulting her doctor to rest in order to recover as soon as possible.”

Here's the full statement:

"This is your KATSEYE community manager. We are very sorry to share that Manon will not be able to perform at Summer Sonic Tokyo on Sunday, August 17, as her condition has declined upon landing in Tokyo. She has since made the decision after consulting her doctor to rest in order to recover as soon as possible. We know many EYEKONS were looking forward to seeing all KATSEYE members on stage at Summer Sonic Tokyo and we sincerely apologize for the unforeseen change. Your health and safety, as well as that of KATSEYE members, is always our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding. We wish Manon a speedy recovery. Thank you for your continued support for KATSEYE."

The update comes one day after KATSEYE pulled out of their Summer Sonic Osaka set on August 16 “due to two members feeling unwell.”

Despite this, the agency reassured fans that both artists had “fully recovered” and would return to the stage in Tokyo.

EYEKONS express concern for KATSEYE's Manon as she sits out of the Summer Sonic Tokyo Festival

Following the announcement, EYEKONS — KATSEYE's devoted fandom — quickly took to social media to express their worries about the K-pop star.

"Get well soon Manon. Although we were all looking forward to the performance, we will never be angry or disappointed in you guys for putting your health first. We love you all so much and can’t wait for everything you guys have planned in the future," a fan posted on X (formerly Twitter).

"praying this girl gets her immune system up bc the poor thing always sick!! get well soon manzanita," another said.

"WE LOOOOOOVE U MANON !!!! get well soon our girlll <33," an EYEKON added.

"Get well soon Manz, we can't wait to have you for the other appearances," another replied.

Some fans also criticized the agency for allegedly overworking the girl group, while others defended those who called out Manon's absence.

"if hybe continues to overwork the girls and take zero covid precautions this will continue happening constantly. they are barely into their career and somebody is always sick or injured :/," one wrote.

Meanwhile, the rest of KATSEYE will move forward with their scheduled set while Manon will remain focused on recovery.
