Tate McRae is achieving new heights with her collaboration with Morgan Wallen, but fans are unconvinced.

The songstress earned her first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with What I Want, with Morgan Wallen. The track is a part of the latter's I'm the Problem album, and it debuted at the dominating position on the Billboard 200 after having dropped on Friday, May 16. Seven of the singer's other tracks have all clocked in on the Hot 100, with five even charting in the top 25.

Nonetheless, the 21-year-old Canadian pop phenom may be doing well on paper, but online, fans feel like she needs to step things up. Here's how one fan reacted on X, for instance:

"Her least deserving song"

The comments didn't end there:

"It should’ve been revolving door or literally any other of her and her only songs, i’ve given this no streams because i don’t support a dude that supports maga. instead i’ve just been streaming tates album over and over to give that streams," one user opined.
"Deserved it way before with you broke me first," someone else claimed.
"sadly it was because of THAT man but congrats to her!!!!" another fan gushed.

Even more chimed in to react:

"Tate's a W, Morgan's a W, everybody's a W," someone cheered on.
"Her fans were begging her not to collab with him btw," another pointed out.

Users were visibly upset with Tate McRae for collaborating with Morgan Wallen.

Why the internet is disappointed with Tate McRae for collaborating with Morgan Wallen:

For the unversed, Tate McRae's decision to pair up with Morgan Wallen was not well-received, with many voicing concerns about his sketchy reputation. The country music crooner, 32, pleaded guilty just last year to two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment.

The incident took place shortly after he was suspended by his record label after footage of him using a racial slur went viral online. As reported by Yahoo! Entertainment, in 2020, he was also accused of infringing on COVID-19 protocols.

As for McRae, she has been making strides in her own right. She released her latest album, So Close to What, this past February, which paved the way for her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. She is also preparing to hit the road for her Miss Possessive world tour.
