Fans are excited for Lorde's new album.

In a new clip doing the rounds online, Lorde, who is scheduled to drop her first album after a four-year hiatus this June, can be seen admitting to Emma Chamberlain that her Met Gala outfit is an Easter Egg for Virgin.

When Chamberlain, who was interviewing on behalf of Vogue, expressed interest in the veteran songstress' ensemble, she teased fans with some new information:

"This is custom Tom Brown," she said of her outfit, adding, "This is my creation. It's something of an Easter Egg. More will be revealed, but I just love the open back. To me, it represents where I’m at gender-wise. I feel like a man and a woman.”

Fans have since expressed curiosity about her ensemble more than her forthcoming album, however, such as this one user who posited:

"Her top is magnetic"

The comments didn't end there:

"My grandma wants her napkin back," someone quipped.
"Lorde said man AND woman ,guess she’s the whole package now!" another gushed.
"She looks AMAZING. she def crushed the look," one more appreciated.
"lorde dropping album hints like it’s 2017 again i’m shaking," yet another fan chimed in.

Even more chimed in with their own opinions and remarks:

"keep hating her while she makes moneyy mother is saving the year," one fan penned.
"Perhaps sticking to the dress code was more important than an eater egg for your album...? Just an idea," someone else dissed.
"So the album is gonna be basic ?" another echoed.

Users were visibly confused over what the ensemble could mean, with many speculating it could be over the songstress' confusion about her identity.

Here's how Lorde feels about her forthcoming album, Virgin:

The New Zealand singer-songwriter is gearing up to drop her fourth studio album, Virgin, this summer, though she already dropped her first single from it, What Was That. The BBC reported five days ago that the track has since peaked within the UK top 10.

Speaking with the outlet's Radio 1's Jack Saunders, she shared that it took a lot of work for her album to get to where it is:

"I never thought it would come out," she said. "I wrote this from the perspective of, 'well I could never say that'," the singer, real name Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, added. "It was just sort of an exercise in saying everything I needed to say about a whole lot of different stuff and I put off dealing with that. I was like, that's for future Ella to deal with."

According to the BBC, Lorde also reflected on how the album acts as a bridge between her and her younger self.

"I really went into it like, 'just make something for you, just make something you think is cool'," she said. "It's not unlike how I was making music as a 15-year-old, just trying to impress myself. "What Was That was the first song from this album that I wrote and was like, 'OK, I know where to go with this'," she went on, describing the track as "Lorde canon" and "recognisably me". "It's funny to be 12 years into your career and for people to have an understanding of your tropes and what you do."

The songstress also claimed she "wanted to lock people back in" on her music after her last album, Solar Power, which came out in 2021. Noting that it was "a very different flavor for me," she went on:

"It's about going to the core of who I am in the purest way possible, stripping away anything unnecessary."
