Taylor Swift's track "Opalite" from her new album The Life of a Showgirl has become the fastest non-single in Spotify history to reach 100 million streams. The song crossed the milestone in eight days and surpassed the previous record held by her "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart," which took nearly two weeks to hit the milestone.
Fans reacted to Taylor Swift's latest achievement, saying:
"Opalite really said hidden track, heavy impact 😭✨"
The Life of a Showgirl was officially released on October 3, 2025. Within ten hours of its release, the album became Amazon's most-streamed record of the year and broke Spotify's single-day streaming record, which was previously held by Adele. According to Billboard, the album sold more than 3.4 million copies in its first week. It is the largest sales week since data tracking began in 1991.
Fans' reactions to Taylor Swift's 'Opalite' becoming the fastest non-single to reach 100M streams on Spotify
Pop Base took to its official X (formerly Twitter) page to announce that,
"‘Opalite’ by Taylor Swift has become the fastest non-single to surpass 100 million streams in Spotify history."
Netizens did not wait long before jumping into the comment section of the X post to celebrate Taylor Swift's new record. Below are some of their remarks:
"Ngl, Taylor's songs printing streams like it's monopoly money. Sometimes wonder if she's secretly running Spotify herself.", declared a fan.
"100M streams for a NON-SINGLE is absolutely insane. This just proves that Swifties will stream every single track, not just the hits. The power of a loyal fanbase", hyped another.
"It’s wild how some tracks just hit in a way singles usually do, and "Opalite" by Taylor Swift proving that shows how her fanbase is seriously tuned in to every detail of her work. It’s not just the usual hype around a single; this is deep album love at its finest. You can really see how streaming platforms have changed the game, letting listeners pick whatever song resonates instead of being pushed just the main releases. That kind of shift creates moments where songs like this break records faster than anyone expected which is a huge deal in today’s music world where attention spans are short but dedication runs deep. Taylor’s ability to turn every song into a massive hit no matter how it’s released just keeps setting the bar higher and showing what star power really means in the streaming era", penned a third.
Others also chimed in:
"she could drop a voice memo of her sneezing and it would still outsell half the industry 😭", joked a netizen.
"Wow, that's impressive! 🤩 Taylor Swift's impact is undeniable. Love it!", commented another.
"Taylor breaking records without even trying that’s when you know it’s real power. 💎✨", wrote a third.
Opalite and every track of The Life of a Showgirl are available for streaming on all major audio streaming platforms.
