The hip hop group, Wu-Tang Clan have announced a new venture by launching a video game, titled "Wu Tang: The Rise of the Deceiver," the trailer for which was premiered at the Summer Game Fest on 6 June.
The popular hip hop group, that rose to fame in the early 1990s, with their debut album Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), was later nominated at the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album for their second studio album Wu-Tang Forever.The nine member band went on to release a clothing line, as well as several documentaries focusing on the group and it's members. In 1999 they released their first video game, titled Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style.

Wu-Tang Clan announced their latest video game venture, titled, "Wu Tang: The Rise of the Deceiver," which features a story where the characters in the game, each represented by the current members of the group, hope to pass on their knowledge to the new generation. According to the press release obtained by Entertainment Weekly, it read:
"The Wu-Tang Clan must pass on their fantastical powers to a new generation of warriors to save their home of Shaolin."
The trailer of the game was also premiered at the Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber tour that began in Baltimore on Friday and will conclude next month in Philadelphia. Apart from the group's video game announcement, according to Entertainment Weekly, rapper RZA, one of the leading members of Wu-Tang Clan, is also soon set to premier his long awaited horror movie, "Angle of Dust." In a statement rapper Ghostface Killah, who produced the movie, said:
"Creating Angel of Dust has been an incredible journey. Bringing the story to life through film was just the beginning. Now, with the development of the video game, we are immersing fans even deeper into this supernatural thriller universe. It's about blending music, storytelling, and interactive experience. I can't wait for fans to step into the darkness and discover what lies beneath."
Wu-Tang Clan who have produced their new game, "Wu Tang: Rise of the Deceiver," have done so in collaboration with Brass Lion Entertainment. According to Engadget, the game is set a fantasy world and involves fighting the evil forces termed as the "Deceiver." It an be played both individually as well as with upto three players, and shall contain a remix of songs from the group's past releases.
According to the outlet, the game is set to release across several platforms, making it readily available for all excited fans, although a release date for the same has not yet been announced.
