Andy Bell was a member of the band Oasis from 1999 to 2009. In a recent conversation with Austrian outlet OE24, Bell confirmed his presence in the reunited Oasis lineup with brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher. He said,
"Yes, I'm in and I'm really looking forward to it. We'll see each other on tour. Or rather, you'll see me, because I'll hardly be able to spot you in the audience."
Bell was also a member of Beady Eye, Ride and Mantra of the Cosmos, and his confirmation of his involvement was confrimed after sources close to the band revealed about his participation to NME in March.
The brothers will reunite on stage for their Oasis 2025 tour from July 4 for 41 international dates. The Gallagher brothers are yet to announce and confirm the name of the people joining them on the tour.
Andy Bell, who was involved in the development of the band's last three albums, joined the band in 1999 as a replacement for bassist Paul McGuigan, who quit while the band was recording their fourth album, Standing on the Shoulder of Giants.
Other members expected to join the reunion lineup are former guitarists Bonehad, who was with the band from 1991 to 1999, Gem Archer, who joined the band from 1999 until 2009. The Sun in an article published on May 13, confirmed that American musician, Joey Waronker will be joining as the drummer.
What happened between Andy Bell and Oasis?
Rock band, Oasis, split in 2009, after brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher had a huge backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. Noel, who initially started the band, quit after Liam was allegedly wielding Noel's guitar "like an axe" backstage.
At the time, Noel said,
"At that point there was no physical violence but there was a lot of World Wrestling Federation stuff. It was unncessarily violent act and he nearly took my face off."
Noel announced his decision to leave via the band's website and made it clear that Liam was the person behind his departure.
"It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go working with Liam a day longer."
Andy Bell, who joined the band in 1999, wrote several album tracks, including Turn Up the Sun, and Keep the Dream Alive. He was also involved in the band's creative process until the band broke up in 2009 as a result of the brothers, Noel and Liam's public brawl.
