Country music icon Garth Brooks has always shown his love for his wife Trisha Yearwood, and he's doing it once more to honor her most recent artwork, the album 'The Mirror.' Brooks has been nothing but proud for his wife who he has been married to for almost 20 years.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood got married on 10 December 2005, where they exchanged vows in a private ceremony at their home outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. From a long-standing friendship in the music business, their relationship developed into a romance that won the country listening fans' hearts.

Brooks proposed in front of 7,000 fans at a live show in Bakersfield, California, in May 2005, making the engagement itself nothing short of spectacular. Brooks, at the time, was being honored

Garth Brooks' children, Taylor, August, and Allie, were little at the time, but they jumped on board right away. The girls even went so far as to exchange rings and vows with Yearwood herself when Brooks revealed his intentions to marry her over a family meal.

Speaking to Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show, he revealed:

"It was great. We were at the dinner, all three of them — it was a really tight conversation. I'm nervous, and I finally worked up the courage to say I'd like to get married, and they were all fine with that, but I said, 'But you gotta take care of [Yearwood].'"

Garth Brooks added:

"And I'm waiting for something intelligent to come back, and it was the youngest, Allie, who said, 'We got your back, bra strap."

Family life: Garth Brooks' girls and Trisha's stepdaughters

Sandy Mahl was Garth Brook's ex-wife, she was is college sweetheart and the two of them had three kids together. Brooks went on to take some time off the limelight to care of the kids after his divorce. This was just after his album Scarecrow's release.

Recalling this moment in 2019, he told reporters and Closer Weekly:

“[I] got divorced [and] left the music business … [I] was living with three strange women that I did not know. Females ruled my new world now.”

Despite the divorce, he, Trish, and Sandy made co-parenting work:

“I’d never wished divorce on anybody, but three children and three parents worked really well — especially since the three girls were all tomboys. So they were all at soccer, track and field, whatever, softball. So never ever did one of those kids take the field where at least one parent wasn’t in the stands.”

Garth Brooks' kids are now all grown with their families of their own. Taylor, the eldest, usually keeps a low profile, but she did appear on the documentary, Garth Brooks: The Road I'm On. She holds a master's degree in theological studies. His second eldest daughter is now a mom of two with her husband, Chance Russell. Brooks even mentioned that she was "made to be a mom." While the youngest, Allie, pursued a career similar to her father's. After obtaining a degree in songwriting and music business, she released her album, Stones.

Trisha Yearwood's reinvention: The Mirror

Trisha Yearwood's The Mirror was released in June 2025. This marks Trisha Yearwood's first attempt at co-writing her own songs and producing them. Despite being one of Nashville's most influential voices for decades, Yearwood has seldom ever written her own songs. That changed after she and Leslie Satcher worked with Steven Dorff and had a breakthrough composition session in 2022 that produced the poignant ballad "When October Settles In."

Since then, Yearwood has written 60 songs, many of which made it into the 15-track album. Speaking to Axios, she revealed that this opened up a "new portal" for her:

"This whole new portal opened, and it's so exciting. I'm 60 years old, and I felt like I was pretty sure and pretty set in who I am and what my life is," Yearwood says. "And then I started writing."

Her real-life experiences serve as the inspiration for songs like "Fearless These Days" and "Little Lady," which examine themes of empowerment, heartbreak, and personal development.

Co-producer Chad Carlson called The Mirror a "groundbreaking left turn" in her career. Garth Brooks was amazed at how much she had changed. He has praised and respected her path, calling her record a creative rebirth. He took to Instagram to share his pride, where he wrote:

“I’ve never been more excited for you, @trishayearwood you’ve outdone yourself! The Mirror is my FAVORITE album you have EVER made…the world is lucky to hear your voice, your stories and your soul in this way. This album, like you, is a gift to all of us! love, me.”

Garth Brooks added:

“I sat and watched her sign albums one night at the house. I jokingly asked her if she would sign one for me, she laughed and said if I wanted an album signed I could click the link and buy one myself!”

He concluded as he posed in the photo with her album:

“Don’t mind if I do!”
