In addition to being a well-known pop star worldwide, Gwen Stefani is also a proud mother. The singer recently gave fans a glimpse of her family life and the increasing impact of her husband, Blake Shelton, on her kids, as she posted a video of her son Zuma's 17th birthday.
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, the main vocalist of the British band Bush, were married for 14 years before they split up. Together they have three boys who are also co-parented by Blake Shelton.
Kingston Rossdale is their oldest child, born in 2006, who is currently 19 years old. He has already shown his passion for music, just like his parents and stepfather, as he writes songs and has also performed at venues like Shelton’s Ole Red, Oklahoma.
Zuma Rossdale, the middle child, was born on August 21, 2008. He is growing up to enjoy country music and performing. He first performed in 2024 at Shelton's Nashville bar. He even performed with his father's band, Bush, on his 16th birthday in New Jersey.
Rossdale was excited that his son performed with him on the stage. He said:
"It was so incredible to celebrate Zuma's 16th birthday with 18,000 people screaming happy birthday."
In a separate interview with US Weekly, he said:
"One son loves the Pumpkins and… Zuma, he's got the country bug. I have no idea where he gets that from, but he's got it."
He continued as a proud father:
"I promised to learn a couple of songs, so we can play them because he's also learning guitar. He now wants to play acoustic. So I said, 'Let's play a couple of songs together.' So I'm learning a couple of Zach Bryan songs this week. I'll sit with him and just play them. I just want to do that, to get in his head."
Even Gwen Stefani told PEOPLE about her kids' gifts:
"I was bawling. It's crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is."
Even Blake Shelton, a man who has been in the industry for so long and has also judged a singing show, was amazed at their performance. He told PEOPLE magazine in May:
"When they get up there, you would assume they've been doing this for 10 years. They're very comfortable and not rattled at all."
He added:
"They have three professional musicians in their life and have grown up standing on the side of the stages watching this their entire life, so they have it in their mind how to be when they get out there — but man, I sure wasn't that calm when I would get onstage."
Gwen Stefani's youngest child is Apollo, who was born in 2014 and is currently 11 years old. He's too young to be performing now, but with the talent he's surrounded by, he's bound to get up on the stage soon. The only question is what genre will he play? Rock like his father, or country like step-papa Blake Shelton, or pop-rock like his mother, Gwen Stefani.
Gwen Stefani celebrates son Zuma's birthday
Stefani celebrated her son's 17th birthday on August 21, 2025, by sharing a carousel of photos and videos on Instagram. The post showed Zuma's childhood photos as well as his country singer looks, which are clear inspirations from Blake Shelton. In one video, Zuma was playing Zach Bryan's "Dawns," while in another, he was getting on the stage at the Ole Red as Shelton was introducing him.
Gwen Stefani wrote on the post dedicated to her son Zuma:
"Happy birthday to our sweet and talented Zuma!! We love u soooo much!! ❤️,"
Fans have noticed the similarities between Zuma and Shelton; he has also been called Shelton's "mini me."
