Ju Haknyeon has left the South Korean boy group THE BOYZ, and now the boy band has ten memebers officially. His agency One Hundred Label shared a formal statement on June 17, 2025, announcing the end of his exclusive contract and his exit from the group. This move comes after Japanese media outlet Shūkan Bunshun reported that the South Korean singer met with former Japanese adult video (AV) actress Kirara Asuka in Roppongi Tokyo, in late May.

The report claimed the two spent a long time together at a bar throughout the night. One Hundred Label said they looked into the matter after the publication reached out to them.

The statement read:

"Hello, this is One Hundred. We recently took action to suspend Ju Haknyeon’s activities as soon as we were informed that he was involved in a controversial incident in order to take time to thoroughly investigate and verify the facts. As a result of our investigation, we have recognized the severity of the issue and have taken it seriously. We have realized that it has become difficult to maintain our trust in him as an artist. Due to this, after sufficient discussions with the members of THE BOYZ, we have decided that Ju Haknyeon will be withdrawing from the group and that his exclusive contract will be terminated.
"We kindly ask for your understanding that this decision was an inevitable decision made to protect the members of THE BOYZ and the group as a whole," the label continued. "We are informing you that as of today, Ju Haknyeon will no longer be part of THE BOYZ and will cease all activities with the group. One Hundred Label will spare no effort in fully supporting the remaining members of THE BOYZ so that they can continue to promote in a healthy and stable state. Once again, we sincerely apologize for causing concern to the fans and we will do our best to repay the fans with better news and promotions in the future. Thank you."

Ju Haknyeon took a break from group activities earlier without giving specific reasons. Then, his agency said he would step back for a while, which made fans wonder. The new information sheds light on why he made that choice.

People spotted the South Korean singer with Kirara Asuka, who started in the AV world in 2007 and left it in 2020. After that, she became an influencer and public figure.

THE BOYZ to continue with 10 members after Ju Haknyeon’s departure

Now that Ju Haknyeon has left, THE BOYZ will go on as a group of 10. They first showed up in 2017 under Cre.ker Entertainment (now called IST Entertainment). Later, they moved to One Hundred Label. Since then, they've grown into a well-liked K-pop group with many fans in Korea and around the world.

One Hundred Label wrapped up its announcement with an apology to fans for making them worry. The company also promised to back the group's remaining members. It stressed its plan to help THE BOYZ keep performing in a "healthy and stable way."

As of June 18, 2025, Ju Haknyeon has no more ties to THE BOYZ or One Hundred Label. This marks the end of his seven-year run with the group.
