Adam Levine is pressing pause on his tattoo journey.

In a recent interview with Today, the Maroon 5 frontman revealed he’s likely finished adding to his extensive body art collection. At 46, the singer reflected on how his attitude toward tattoos has shifted over time, from excitement to exhaustion.

Referencing the recent redesign on his left arm, Adam Levine shared:

β€œI covered up my sleeve with another sleeve. Who does that? What is wrong with me? Psychotic.”

While space isn’t the issue, pain certainly is. Adam Levine admitted the process has become much harder to endure especially after his last painful session.

β€œNow, I’ve softened. Now, when I get a tattoo, I’m like, β€˜This hurts so badly.’ We’re done.”

Adam Levine’s tattoo journey began at 21, when he got a dove inked on his upper left bicep in the wake of 9/11. Since then, tattoos have become part of his image despite once saying he’d never get his hands inked. Ironically, the words β€œtrue love” now adorn his fingers and are among his favorites.

β€œYou’re an idiot!”: Adam Levine recalls Blake Shelton tricked him into buying a full-size pig for Behati Prinsloo

Adam Levine’s tattoo confession comes after a very different kind of revelation, this time about a farm animal prank gone wrong, courtesy of his longtime friend and The Voice co-star, Blake Shelton.

While appearing on the July 3 episode of Hot Ones, the Maroon 5 frontman recalled an early dating mishap involving his now-wife, model Behati Prinsloo.

Wanting to impress her, the Payphone crooner decided to gift her a teacup pig, something she had mentioned wanting. Unsure where to begin, he turned to Shelton for help, given the country singer’s farming background.

Adam Levine told host Sean Evans:

β€œSo, I asked Blake, I’m like, β€˜What’s a teacup pig?’ He’s like, β€˜I’ll get you a teacup pig. Yeah, give me five grand.’”

The Moves Like Jagger hitmaker agreed and gave him the money, under one condition: the pig had to stay small. But the piglet Shelton delivered didn’t stay tiny for long. After just a few noisy weeks, Levine and Prinsloo gave the animal to a little girl. Six months later, they received a photo update β€” of a pig weighing roughly 400 pounds. The singer recalled:

β€œI’m just like, β€˜Blake, bro, $5,000 for a pig that wasn’t a micro pig?’”

Shelton responded:

β€œβ€˜You’re an idiot! There’s no such thing as f–king teacup pigs you dumba–!’”

Despite the pig debacle, Levine and Prinsloo’s relationship thrived. They tied the knot in 2014 and are now parents of three.

As for Levine’s post-prank life, he’s currently enjoying being a dad and youth basketball coach, though he admits to getting a little too competitive.

β€œMy worst quality [as a coach] is I get hotheaded… And these kids are children. They’re eight years old.”

Levine also took on the infamous hot wings challenge with some trademark wit and warning. He said he gets β€œreally deep sweat” under his eyes, dabbing as tears formed from the extreme spice of Da’ Bomb hot sauce.
