This week in federal court, a woman using the name "Jane" shared personal and disturbing details about her past relationship with Sean "Diddy" Combs. According to her account, Combs used his resources and influence to control and exploit people for almost 20 years. The lawsuit is part of an ongoing case against the music producer, accusing him of sex trafficking and racketeering, among other offenses.
According to her, the dynamic shifted significantly after Combs began introducing elements of group sex into their relationship, a change she said she agreed to initially, believing it would be a rare event meant to please him. But what came next, she said, became a key part of their bond. As per AP News, Jane said most of their sex involved other men, often set up by Combs' team. Though she didn't like it and said no, Jane felt she had to go along because Combs paid her rent and had a big say in her daily life.
"I felt an obligation because I knew he was paying my rent," she said.
The jury paid close attention as Jane got teary talking about what she called a "Pandora's box" moment. She said it made her feel stuck and unable to change how things were going. She said,
"That night really opened a Pandora’s box for our relationship. It set the tone for our relationship going forward. … It was a door that I was unable to shut."
Jane's testimony deepens allegations against Sean “Diddy” Combs
In court, the judge warned Diddy against using silent gestures to influence the jury. Judge Arun Subramanian told Diddy's lawyers,
"There should be no efforts whatsoever to have an interaction with this jury."
Jane's account adds to the growing list of accusations against the 55-year-old entrepreneur. Among these are allegations from R&B singer Cassie Ventura, who has accused Combs of violent and controlling behavior during their long-term relationship. Jane spoke as she recounted her time with Combs. Their relationship began in 2021 and lasted until 2024. She described how things felt exciting and full of love at first. But as time went on, she saw more signs of control and manipulation.
As reported by NBC News, Jane also said that these sessions would last anywhere between 24 and 30 hours with no sleep or breaks in between. She also mentioned that she would end up agreeing to Diddy's demands even after repeatedly telling him that she did not want to have sex with other men. Jane said,
"I was agreeable because I wanted him to be happy, turn him on, and satisfy my partner."
The federal suit against Diddy claims his showbiz career was a cover for further abuse, hiding crimes behind his star power. Jane's account mirrored crucial aspects of Cassie Ventura's previous testimony. She spoke about emotional stress and wanting to escape the situation. She also mentioned feeling cut off from others and powerless to take charge of her own life again.
Diddy has rejected the accusations and entered a plea of not guilty to charges that include sex trafficking and racketeering. If found guilty, he may face a prison term spanning from 15 years to life.
The judge has made efforts to keep Jane’s identity hidden throughout the trial. These efforts include banning any courtroom sketches or images that could show what she looks like. The trial is still ongoing, and more witnesses are set to testify in the weeks ahead.
