Justine Skye has entered a new chapter in her music career. The Brooklyn-born singer-songwriter has officially signed with Warner Records. On May 30, 2025, she released a new single titled Oh Lala, a dance track in collaboration with Kaytranada. The single marks the beginning of her partnership with the label.

Skye is starting fresh with a new sound. She has moved away from her earlier R&B style and is exploring dance music with faster tempos.

Speaking to Billboard, she said, “I’m so excited to be part of the Warner family. From the beginning, they’ve truly seen the vision for this new era of my music and have been incredible partners in bringing it to life.”

She also added that Oh Lala represents the direction she wants her music to go in.

“The track builds a world where tempo and dance are the leading force,” she told Billboard.

Warner Records is releasing the music in partnership with its dance imprint, Major Recordings.

Why did Justine Skye decide to change her sound?

Justine Skye explained her motivation in a press release.

“After going through so much emotionally, I hit a point where I just wanted to feel good again,” she said.

She shared that her healing process involved spending time on the dance floor. She wanted her music to reflect that feeling of release and energy.

According to her, dance spaces like Brooklyn, L.A., and Ibiza helped her connect with that emotion.

“For me, that happened on the dance floor, being carefree with like-minded people,” she said in the release. The new track is meant to carry that same energy. “Something sexy, something free, something that lets you forget everything but the moment you’re in,” she added.

This marks a shift from her past work, including her debut album Ultraviolet (2018) and the Timbaland-produced Space & Time (2021). Justine Skye had been exploring new music directions since her earlier hit Collide, which gained popularity again on TikTok in 2022.
