Jelly Roll is warning fans that he might not be able to perform in Nashville, his hometown, until 2027.

The Son of a Sinner singer proclaimed the news to fans at Bridgestone Arena during the Music City Rodeo event before he asked them for help. During his set on Friday, May 30, he told the audience:

“I shouldn’t say this, I'm gonna get in trouble. But I gotta say it out loud." The 40-year-old added, "This will be my last Nashville show until 2027, y’all. Hear me out, though. This is why, because I need y’all’s help."

The singer went on to reveal that he's keen on being the first act to be able to play at the Nissan Stadium. The venue will replace the NFL's Tennessee Titans' current home of the same name, which opened in 1999.

Here's everything we know about Jelly Roll's next goal as his fans cheer him on

During his time on stage, Jelly Roll told the crowd on Friday night:

"This will be my last Nashville show until 2027, y'all. Hear me out though, this is why. Because I need y'all's help. I want to be the first act to play Nissan Stadium when it opens in the spring of 2027."

He also acknowledged how far he has come in his hometown:

"I never thought I would make it here. I never thought we would sell the Bridgestone out. We've sold the Bridgestone out three times now — two times in the last five months," he continued.

But for now, Jelly Roll, who grew up in Antioch and has long paid homage to his home in his songs, is looking to take a hiatus from the city until he achieves his goal when the stadium opens.

"In 2027, Nissan Stadium, please let the local boy live a dream and open up the new stadium, let me be the first to play it, baby! Let the local boy do it, baby! I’ve got a f------ life-long Titans fan. Let me play Nissan Stadium, y’all!" The crowd at the Bridgestone Arena cheered him on, according to People Magazine.

The Liar singer, born Jason Deford, also asked fans to film his proclamation and upload it on TikTok to spread the word before he thanked his fans for the support:

"Sorry, that’s crazy, but I gotta speak it into existence. I believe in Nashville," he said. "If all of y’all brought a friend, we could do it. If you brought a friend, we could do it!"

People Magazine has reported that Jelly Roll is currently supporting Post Malone for their Big A** Stadium Tour. The pair will soon traverse across New York, Miami, and Orlando, among others, this month, before wrapping up in San Francisco on July 1.

The outlet has also pointed out that the country music crooner, who has been in and out of jail about 40 times in his life, recently donated a recording studio to the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center. Jelly Roll told the outlet in 2022 that it was there that he realized his knack for music, which is also where he spent some of his formative years:

"I was in and out of there for about three, three and a half years. I spent a lot of time there and eventually got charged as an adult for a crime I committed as a juvenile," he said at the time. "And I just realized that was the most impactful thing that ever happened in my life, and the darkest moments of my life still were being that 15-year-old scared kid spending Thanksgiving away from his family."

Jelly Roll went on,

"I knew that I wanted to give back whenever I was in a situation to, and I always knew I wanted to make it really personal. So, I went back to the same juvenile that I started doing music at. I wrote some of my first raps there, had my first big rap battle there."

As for the Nissan Stadium, it is currently under construction, having begun last year. Its new capacity is expected to clock in at 60,000, which is a slight drop from its current size.

Only time will tell if Jelly Roll achieves his dreams, though he's made it clear that this is what he wants. Fans online are rallying for him to make it, with some even pointing out how much he's done for his hometown. In the meantime, stay tuned to SoapCentral for more such news!
